the ducks walked the street of los angeles pretty late at night, but that didn't mean everything was closed. aurelia led the group, charlie right by her side
"are you nervous" he spoke, his voice was soft and quiet, "what?" "about iceland, i mean we've all seen the players, and their coach is kinda scary"
aurelia agreed quietly "well kinda, but bombay should know what he's doing, he says we have nothing to worry about but i don't feel so confident about that game"
aurelia was and really is never the type of person to speak about her feelings, especially when it came to a hockey game, it was rare and if she spoke to you about them you must've been an important person in her life. but charlie knew exactly what aurelia was talking about, bombay said since usa was on a roll the team had nothing to worry and all they had to do was give it their best.
"somethings gonna happen that game, and it's not gonna be good, i can feel it" she said softly looking into charlie's eyes "as long as we have you we should be good" he spoke as a smile grew across the brunette girl's face.
charlie was about to speak when aurelia stopped walking and looked up, causing the rest of the ducks to stop as well. there was a sign that said "PIZZA, OPEN 24 HRS"
"you guys down for some pizza?" she asked turning around to face the ducks "im down" blurted dean, fulton agreeing with him as well.
"perfect, pizza is it"
"look! they have an arcade inside as well" averman said peeking into the window
"you know you look like creep staring into the window right" spoke aurelia laughing at the ginger boy who turned back and rolled eyes "your so funny eila, everyone is laughing their heads off" "i wasn't trying to be funny, im just speaking the truth" she stated as averman walked into the pizzeria

"boom" aurelia said grabbing the mini rabbit stuffed animal she won for connie at the claw machine "that's how you do it conway" she flexed the plushie in his face
"ill be back, i need to find connie" she said kissing his cheek and walking away to find her best friend.
as aurelia passed through the rows of claw machines she had spotted dean and julie
"a pretty girl like you, how come you've got no playing time?" dean asked with his back against the machine, julie stood in front of him "i guess i'm not good enough" she responded
quickly dean looked up and saw aurelia who was giving him a thumbs up mouthing "go for it" he smiled and nodded his head
she felt like the two of them could actually use each other and her being the great friend is she told him to shoot his shot. after all dean has always been into blondes
meanwhile charlie looked around the arcade and found a claw machine with elephant stuffed animals
elephants are aurelias favorite animal, he remembered that from the day they went into her room, on a shelf above her desk was her elephant stuffed animals she collected
charlie knew he had to get her one
the brunette boy wasn't very good at claw machine games, if only he was like aurelia was but he wasn't
he put his last token into the machine, with one hand fingers crossed and the other on the joystick. he even checked the side of the box to make sure the claw was right above the plushie perfectly. then he pushed the big red button praying it would grab the elephant
and it did
charlie conway had won aurelia evans an elephant stuffed animal, all by himself
"conway, i've been looking all over for you" aurelia spoke, charlie hearing her voice placed the elephant behind his back turning to face the girl
"sorry but i saw this and i had to get it for you"
he brought the plushie holding it in front of aurelia
"conway.. you should've have" she started staring at the elephant in his hands, a smile slowly grew across the girls face as she took the plushie "but its an elephant, how did you know" she screeched
"i have my ways ill say" charlie said proudly "oh thank you conway i love it" she said giving the boy a hug as her face rested on his shoulder
charlie could feel his heart racing, today was the perfect day to be charlie conway
