Siddhant's POV. -
"I need to talk with you."
I said and Surbhi hesitantly nodded her head. I took her to the side where there weren't many people. She was looking scared for some reason.
"Surbhi. First, calm down. And tell me honestly. Are you ready for this marriage?"
I asked straightforwardly. She widened her eyes looking at me. I saw her gulping and looking around. She took her time to think and then slowly nodded her head.
My eyebrows scrunch at her response. If she's ready then why is she so scared and stiff? I sigh and gulp before asking my next question.
"What did you want to tell me yesterday? Before Prem interrupted?"
I asked and saw her biting her lips. She was looking down while fidging with her fingers. She slowly shook her head negatively.
"Nothing."
I huff hearing her response. I did not want to believe her but she wasn't saying anything. I was just getting more confused.
"So, you're okay with the engagement?"
I asked and she again nodded her head.
"Yes."
Now I was left stunned. I roamed my sight around to digest her words. Her body language doesn't match with her words. It made me wonder how much pressure she was feeling with this marriage. She was looking afraid and I didn't want to scare her more.
"Okay. Let's go."
I said and moved aside. She looked at me and quickly went away while I had to stand there and gather myself before following her. I was already confused with this marriage and her behaviour was confusing me more.
I went inside and took a seat beside Maa. The performance was about to start.
"Maa. I'll leave after Rakhi's performance. I need to reach the office."
I whispered for Maa to hear and she just nodded her with a small smile. Kavya Bhabhi came back and sat with us and the performances started. One by one, the contestant performed and I was least interested as the thoughts in my head were running wild.
Finally, Rakhi's name was announced and I smiled a little to see her walk in the middle of the stage. She looked in our direction and I gave her a small reassuring smile. She took a deep breath and started her performance.
