"Yay! Thank you Mikey!" Elizabeth practically jumped up and down with excitement as I handed her one of my scones from the cafe, "Do you want one Evan?" I turned to see the little boy standing in the hallway next to us, teddy bear in hand. He nodded slowly, I chuckled and held out one of the scones. He carefully walked up to me and grabbed it from my hand, taking a nibble of the pastry with a smile on his face.
"Can we watch a movie?" Lizzy grinned, munching on the blueberries inside her scone, "Sure, go pick one out." I gestured them both to the living room, feeling my phone buzz in my back pocket as I turned to the heater settings beside the front door and turned it up, it's cold as fuck outside.
