CHAPTER FIFTEEN

With the end of term and the feeling of holidays in everyone's spirits, the last Hogsmeade's trip before the winter break came as a cheerful hubbub of students, flooding down the High Street of Hogsmeade Village. The lands of Hogwarts were covered in snow and the castle was decorated with sparkly and glittery Christmas ornaments. The ghosts were joyful, the students couldn't wait to go home by their families, except Neville who count the days before seeing his grandmother which was truly...something terrible.

Halloween was long gone, so was the first Quidditch match of the season and all that happened since then. You had been focusing on your O.W.Ls though your mind was always tortured by the secrets your bore alone.

One you had kept since a month or so. The day that followed your discussion with the two professors of the school : McGonagall and Dumbledore, you had been tortured not being able to tell a soul about it ; especially Cedric. Why did they thought you wanted to be an Animagi ? Why would they ask you to become one ? If Professor McGonagall explained it as a challenge, a test, you couldn't help but wonder what was the meaning of it, what did she wanted to see through your process of becoming an Animagi. The fact Dumbledore was linked to that, made it all the more confusing.

This piled up on the mountain of things you were trying to figure out. You had spent all your time at the library, ignoring all that was happening in the castle, especially all the rumours concerning you.

Slytherins were bitter that you had shown such a powerful spell back on the quidditch pitch, so they spread all kind of mean rumours to tackle you, but it only help your popularity to grow. On one evening In particular, you had heard two Slytherins discussing the matter stating a filthy mud-blood like yourself couldn't be powerful enough to catch such a spell. As an answer you had discreetly hexed them onto growing pig tails and snouts. They ran horrified and terrified. A bold move which didn't compensate the ache they had caused. After that you kept rambling about your worth and what it meant to be a muggle-born. Will your magic ever be questioned because of your birth ? Will you never be good enough ?

Cedric snapped you out of your trance when you arrived in front of the High Street.

'Are you okay Y/n?' He asked wrapping an arm onto your shoulders.

You nodded as an answer while Angelina ran towards from afar.

'Well you better be because you have a date today.' Whispered your bestfriend after he kissed you on the cheek before the girl arrived.

Angelina arrived looking joyful and excited a wide smile stretching her lips. She looked you up and down.

'Well, you're beautiful !'

'I am wearing my usual clothes, Angelina.' You said.

She then rolled her eyes and you couldn't help but frown at her. It was all her fault that your Hogsmeade trip was ruined by a «date». You did not date, you could not date. It was foolish, childish and completely useless. Thank Godric, Roger had told you to meet him at the Three Broomstick and not Madam Pudifoot's Teashop. The humiliation you would have suffered otherwise would have been terrible. You shivered of disgust at the thought and walked with your two best friend to Honeydukes because it was still early before your rendezvous with Roger.

Entering the shop you three were embraced in the warmth of the place, the laughter of the clients and the smell of sweets. There was a tinkle as you pushed the door open but it was covered by the hubbub inside. You three warmed up your hands stroking them angrily, trying to recover the sensation at the end of your fingers.
