Avery's Point Of View

It has already been 24 hours since I met Riley in person, but it already feels like forever since I've seen her, I was sitting in my office as I looked at the clock while chewing on my lip waiting for the right moment to go out and see her while she's working, once it hit 1:00 pm I sprung up from my chair and walked over to my mirror, fixed up my tie and vest before putting on my blazer

I then grabbed my wallet, and phone before opening my office door to see Drake about to knock on the door with a bag of food in his hand, I narrowed my eyes at him

"What?" I asked

He then gave me the food

"Thought you skipped lunch, again, by the way; where are you going?"

I look over to the side before looking back at the person in front of me

"I was going to go and pick something up nearby" I say

"Then let me come with you"

"Not going to happen" I say as I started to walk passed him

Drake then started to follow me from behind

"And why is that?" he asked

"None of your damn business" I mumble as I pressed the button to the elevator

"Do you need to meet with a partner?"

"No"

"Client?"

"No"

There was then a silence between us as we entered the empty elevator

"Is it something personal?" David said as he pushed the button to the first floor

I looked at him from the corner of my eye for a moment before chewing on the skin of my lip again

"Going to see Riley is all.." I say softly

Drake then widened his eyes

"Didn't you meet her yesterday? Why so soon?" he asked

I look down as a smile started to spread to my lips

"I don't know why either, but the simplest way of putting it for me; she's utterly intoxicating, and I want her" I say as I looked at him

Drake looked genuinely concerned at me as he looked like a shiver went down his back, the smile on my face then disappeared as the elevator door opened, I then stepped out and Drake continued to follow me

I then turned to him and narrowed my eyes, and pointed at him

"No, only me, you'll only ruin my chances with her"

"Ouch, hurtful" he pouted jokingly

My eye twitched slightly before looking at him one more time before walking out of the front of my building and to the café which is surprisingly close to my building, I walked in to see that it wasn't as busy as it was then yesterday, I walked into the line as I waited for my turn

I pulled out my phone as I looked at where her library is, and it was a couple of blocks away from the café I am currently at, and surprisingly near my office, that was too convenient for me, but I'm not complaining, as long as I can be close to her

Once it was my turn I walk up to the counter and started to take out my wallet

"Yeah, let me get an iced mocha cappuccino, a cake pop, hot chocolate with whipped cream and peppermint, along with some fries and ranch to go" I say as I paid for the stuff
