I hear them call me in my sleep,
Beckoning me toward them
Into the sleepless hours of the night.

They throw themselves mercilessly from the sky
Until their demands are met,
Burning continuously,
Even after they've hit the ground.

Like flares shot from a gun;
A phenomenon that mimics fireworks:
Always blue, and forever bright.
I see this all within your eyes.
