Sun and Rain

Sun and Rain hardly get along.
"Why are you always so happy?" Rain asked.
"Why are you always so sad?" Sun laughs.
They take turns teasing and poking fun
Where Rain always gets hurt
But never Sun.

"Why is Sun mean to me?" Rain asked Mother.
"She's looking out for you," she said'
"You're her little brother."
Rain looked at Mother with tears in her eyes
And demanded to know why Sun loved to see him cry.

"She doesn't like to see you hurt,
But its your tears that water the earth."
"Why can't the tears be happy ones?" He looked at the sky.
"Well, don't you see," Mother replies,
"She jokes and teases to make you smile."
