Is darkness truly the absence of light?
Or the natural state of all things?
Without the sun it would always be night
But is that the natural state of all things?
Is death truly the absence of life?
Or the natural state of all things?
Without life there would be none to notice this strife
But is that the natural state of all things?
Is silence truly the absence of sound?
Or the natural state of all things?
Without animals and people and life there would be no sound
But is that the natural state of all things?
So with no darkness, death, and silence to be found
How could we enjoy the lights, life and sounds?
