Cassie was already in the bed, making the most of having a proper one to sleep in until god know when, she was curled under the duvet talking to the brunette while Sam read a comic.

"i hope you know that im going to kill you whilst you sleep right" Cassie whispered, Ellie laid beside her, the girl on top of the covers

"and whys that" Ellie teased with a smile

"giving me a fucking heart attack" Cassie smacked her hand on Ellie's forehead, the girl just grabbing her arm and pulling her closer, Ellie wrapped her arms around Cassie "thought i was going to loose you for a minute"

"not gonna happen Cass, you and me are gonna rule the fucking world remember" Ellie smiled, her eyes closed as she basked in the closeness of the two. Cassie just watching her with a smile

"i cant loose you Ellie" Cassie emphasised "i just, i really really cant deal with that"

"and you wont have to" Ellie whispered, her hand moving to rest on the side of her face, caressing her cheek with her thumb. Cassie opened her mouth to say something but promptly shut it as she took in the girls face. Why did being this close to someone just feel so right, they where best friends so why did Cassie have the excessive need to just kiss her. No, she wiped that from her mind as quick as it came. That wasnt normal, you dont kiss your best friends. Besides, Cassie liked men. Exclusively.

"you think were gonna be okay? like you know, say they make a cure or whatever from us, like... we'll be fine. right?" The blonde muttered

"i think we will, weve got each other" Ellie nodded, her eyes flickered to Cassie's lips for a brief moment

"yeah" Cassie nodded "and Joel, you know, i think he actually likes the company"

"oh he definitely does, who could ever get tired of us" The girls quietly laughed before falling quiet once again

"i uh, i killed him" The blonde, once again broke the silence, needing to get it off her chest" The man, shooting at us. He aimed at Joel and i just, shot, and i dont feel guilty about it and its fucking with me because i dont want to be like that. I dont want to kill people to survive"

"you did it for him, if you didn't who knows what could have happened. You did the right thing Cass" Ellie reassured, smiling at the girl

"i know, its just... i should feel bad but the thought of him hurting Joel or you just... i dont know what came over me. I wanted to keep on shooting until i couldn't recognise him anymore" She stated. Ellie just nodded in understanding, smiling softly as she comforted the girl quietly. It felt good to admit it out loud, to tell someone her thoughts and feelings. Cassie just closed her eyes, finally feeling comfortable enough to try and sleep.

Ellie just admired the girl, Cassie could feel her eyes on her but she didn't comment on it. In fact, she felt safe under the watchful eyes of the girl so, ever so slowly, she fell asleep. Her breathing quietened, small puffs of air escaping her lips as she breathed. She looked so peaceful, not so on edge as when she was awake. Like all the horrors of the world disappeared even if it was just for a night.

im back and better than ever babies!! i apologise for the long hiatus but im back to semi regular uploads (hopefully) i forgot how much i loved Ellie and Cassie!! You'll have to bare with the plot holes i probably have since i haven't written this in ages but i hope you will still enjoy!
