Chapter 10 Good Boy

Before Fourth unlocks the door, he takes another deep breath.

He's glad to see Gem again.

And he wishes so much that no disasters await him.

All the shaking should finally stop and the rebuilding should finally begin.

He feels strengthened.

Then he had just fallen in love with his best friend.

Then he just has to learn to understand that, however, he belongs only to womankind.

Fourth is ready.

He is ready for any turn.

Gem is his best friend.

His second half.

And he always wants to return to him.

After he's flown out and explored the world.

He wants to go back to his soulmate.

His brother.

Fourth finally wants to clean up.

And as life goes, he feels empowered by his acquaintance with Mark.

Someone else had to come along and pull him out of his cave of one-sided love.

He will heal.

The wounds will heal and his love for Gem will take on other colors.

And the door to his new life can now be opened.

But Fourth feels a resistance as he tries to open the door.

And he hears sounds hiding behind the door.

He pushes a little harder against the door and suddenly gets it open.

And a Gem searching for something on the floor is waiting for him.

Right in front of the door.

"What are you doing?", Gem is said to be greeted.

"I'm looking for my contact lenses!", Gem replies, feeling the floor in front of the door.

When he heard the key, his heart stopped.

He just wasn't fast enough to move from his paused position at the door.

Damn!

And he's not even wearing glasses.

"What?" follows the logical question.

"Kidding!", Gem stands up and can't even look at Fourth, "Come in! Did you have fun?" he sounds quite interested, "Oh, wait!" he suddenly remembers his intention.

And Fourth is photographed.

Gem's cell phone saves the image of his reappearance.

"What are you doing?" he asks, irritated and still on the doorstep.

And Fourth finally sees Gem's face as he puts the phone back in his pocket.

"I want to capture your look when you come back!", Gem's eyes flutter with emotion, "I want to see if you've found the meaning of love when you come back to me!", Gem's honest lips form.

And Fourth sees the swollen eyes of his love.

The blubbery, swollen eyes.

The red nose on his broken face.

His heart groans so loudly at the sight that he can't let Gem's words sink in.

"What happened to you?", Fourth finally enters their apartment and walks towards Gem, "Gem, are you okay?", he wants to reach for the face he drew countless times.
