~Adria~

I looked at my feet and watched how the wings on my ankles fluttered a little with each step. It all seemed unreal despite feeling the sand stick to my ankles and the breeze of the ocean against my skin. I wanted to wake up, be shaken, and open my eyes in the comfort of my room. Endless questions then clouded my mind; Did my sister know of that spear made out of vibranium? Why did that man want me?

"Princess... where are we going?"

I flinched. My mind was elsewhere for a while, forgetting who had been following me all this time. Namor caught up to me and walked by my side, taking a deep breath as he gazed at the ocean.

"I don't know."

I confessed and he didn't seem to mind that in the slightest. His wings didn't flutter with each step like mine and could keep them in place so beautifully. His bronzed eyes found mine and I looked elsewhere, feeling warm all over my face. I looked again, and his eyes were still set on my face, lingering as if he was curious about something.

"What is it?"

I asked and Namor blinked, going back to his usual reserved attitude; arched eyebrows and intense and yet warm eyes.

"It's nothing— I have one question."

He changed his mind, his lips slightly arching upwards, excited almost. Our feet came to a halt as the ocean caressed our legs with each wave.

"Go ahead."

"What does it feel like? To be... so powerful."

I didn't notice at first, but the more I was aware of my body, the more I felt how strong and full of energy I was. It took all the muscles in my body to keep me still while we took a stroll through the beach. I wanted to sprint and climb every tree in sight. The ocean never looked so welcoming, and even wished I could submerge in its blue depths and swim for days.

"I feel great and full of energy. I don't need glasses anymore."

I replied, trying to keep my body busy by playing with a ring on my middle finger. I couldn't tell whether Namor liked my answer or not; his eyebrows were drawn together but his lips formed a slightly upward curve. We headed towards the forest where there is a well of fresh water made of stones and brick. Namor sat on a stone, leaning back a little as he watched me silently.

My legs stiffened and I stood there, immobile and nervous. I tried to look at the trees, trying to find something interesting in the middle of greens and browns. It was unfair how he and I shared similarities and yet my looks weren't upgraded in the slightest. It was like buying a premium subscription without the nice perks. I looked at him from the corner of my eyes, realizing that his beauty didn't come from his peculiar characteristics but he was simply a fine man. Everything in the forest suddenly turned louder. I could listen to the seagulls from beyond the sea and the falling of leaves. My heart was thundering against my chest, hands getting sweaty. I was certain he could hear my heart quiver.

Attraction. I learned about it in school. There are different sorts of attraction, such as romantic, platonic, sexual, and whatnot. Yes, I have had crushes in the past, or so I thought, but none were this strong. Is it because my abilities just bloomed? I felt a terrible magnetism towards the God-king before my eyes.

"You're beautiful."

I blurted. My eyes widened and Namor swallowed, slightly arching one of his eyebrows. No! You idiot!

"Vibranium! Is my sister aware of the weapon you were harmed with?"

I babbled right after, making it sound like that's what I wanted to say all along. What the fuck was I thinking? Come on girl, get your shit together.
