(Enid POV)

She promised me! She hates promises!
I'm so happy that she can share these things with me.
She hugs back, her head is just under my chin. I rest mine on hers.
"Enid." She says.
"Yeah?" I ask.
"Would we still be friends if something happens?" She says.
My stomach sinks at this.
"I- if anything happens I'll still love you." I say.
"But what if you weren't to anymore?" She says.
"Is this what your worried about Wens? I will love you no matter the things you do, no matter the consequences." I say, it's true.
"I should be asking you this question, as you're the one most likely to lose interest." I say.
"No, I'm obsessed with you. You even beat my true crime novels and no one can beat them." She says.
I feel myself smile at that.
I can feel her move away a bit.
"Are you ok?" I ask.
"Yup." She says, she sounds like she's struggling.
I notice that she's on the edge of the bed.
"Oh, hang on." I say.
"That's exactly what I'm doing." She says.
I can't help but laugh at that, I move back and pull her up.
"Better?" I ask.
"Very much so." She says.
She still manages to fall off the bed.
"What the hell?!" She says, getting up.
"Is today a bad luck day for you?" I ask.
"Probably. But I'll make it through, it's hard to make me snap." She says.
"Literally all I have to do is accidentally hurt myself and you'll start panicking." I say.
"Cause you're important, if something happens to you I'd probably snap, but I'm good at controlling it." She says.

"Are you sure?" I ask.
"Not that it's happened before." She says.
"How do you know you can control it." I ask.
"Ok it happened once or twice but I don't talk about that." She says.
"you can't can you?" I say.
"Shut up."
"Noooo! I like the soft you!" I say.
"I don't!" She says.
"Talk to me Wens!"
"I am!"
"Talk to me about your problems!"
"I am!"
"Oh yeah..."
I think.
"Tell me one of the times." I say.
"Hell no."
"Pleeasssse!"
"No."
"Come on! Just one!"
"Ugh, I'll tell you what caused it."
"Yes!"
"Remember when Thing got stabbed and nearly died?"
"Yeah! That was recent!"
"Sh."
"Oh my god! Why am I proud?"
"Why are you proud?"
"I don't know! Cause you showed emotion! That's a big step!"
"Shut up. Stop."
She says, sitting up.
She's uncomfortable.
"Ok, ok... I'll stop." I say.
I feel bad now.
I sigh and sit up too.
"Sorry." I say.
"No... It's ok, now I feel bad." She says.
"Why?" I ask.
"Because you were so happy and I just ruined it." She says.
"No, it was making you uncomfortable. It's ok!" I say.
"I feel so weak." She says.
I pull her into a hug.
"It's ok." I say.

We sit there for a moment.
She gets up.
"Where are you going?" I ask.
"To put my phone on charge." She says.
She does so. Plugging her phone in.
I hear rain drops hit the window, this catches her attention. She sits by the window watching them fall.
I smile, I join her. Sitting next to her.
She gets up and grabs a hoodie. She puts it on and opens the window to go outside.
"What are you doing? You're gonna get a cold or something." I say.
"So?" She says.
I grab a jumper and climb out the window.
I feel the rain on my face and head.
It was coming down hard.
I walk over to her, I nearly slip over but she catches me.
She smiles.
"You look good in the rain." She says.
I smile too.
"So do you." I say.
She comes closer and kisses me. Her lips are cold, but soft. I enjoy these little moments, I feel like it builds our bond more.
I love her so much.
She pulls away. She looks at me, studying me. She then proceeds to lay on the wet concrete. I see the drops of rain hit her face and roll down, she closes her eyes.
"You're gonna get soaked!" I say.
"So?" She says.
I think for a sec.
"I'll be right back." I say, I go in and put on a coat. It's basically useless now but it'll protect me from anything else.
I climb back out the window and lay next to Wednesday.
"Coward." She says.
"At least I won't get sick." I say.
"I'm not gonna get sick Enid!" She says.
"Really?"
"Yeah, I've done this hundreds of times."
"I'm still keeping the coat."
"If I get sick this week, I will start taking your advice."
"Oh my god you hate taking my advice."
"Exactly."
