Time passed.

The avatars learned.

One much faster then the other but each day they both got better.

Ko and Norm, who finally gotten over his jealousy, would help Jake with his Na'vi even in their human bodies.

Jake had gotten closer to Neytiri and a mutual feeling was slowly developing along the months tho Ko did warn him to be careful as she is promised to Tsu'tey, she didn't do much more to stop him tho, falling even harder for her own 'daughter of the chief'.

Ko was basically already part of the clan without officially being, not looked at as an outsider anymore even if she didn't pass the test yet.

Both were slowly getting used to this life.

Both slowly trusted by the Na'vi, trusted enough to even believe them when they said Norm and Grace should visit and Mo'at accepted, making both drivers face light up with joy at the news.

Norm was awkward and would come by much less but Grace visited almost every two days, the children loved Ko but loved Grace even more.

Tsu'tey waved her along as she crouched and moved through the alien vegetation, crouching as she peeked over the little mound of what felt like mossy plants.

She peered into the distance with a characteristic tilt of her head to the right, seeing the hexapede she had been tracking for quite a while, grazing on the vegetation.

She took a deep breath, pulling the bow taunt and letting the string go soon enough, confident in her shot.

There was only a small cry, as the arrow impacted through the skull before the body collapsed.

She stood, jogging over and looking at the body.

She took a breath, kneeling down, hand on its head as she pulled the arrow out and covered the hold with her hand.

"Rest now with ease, let your soul move on, be reborn, be part of the world again but leave you body behind to feed my people. For your sacrifice I thank you." She muttered.

"That's not what I taught you." Tsu'tey said, hissing slightly tho he didn't even seem angry as he joined her side. "But a clean kill is a clean kill, you are ready sister, ready to carve your own bow from the bark of the hometree but only after you get your ikran, not before, I know you." He pat her shoulder.

She grinned with a chuckle.

"Remember how you challenged me to find out how I knew how to make the bond?"

"Remembered it until now, will you speak now stubborn woman?"

"No." She chuckled, Tsu'tey grabbing the kill and lifting its back paws as she passed the bow around her, resting it on her shoulder opposite to the one the woodsprite sat on, and grabbed the front of the beast, they would carry it until the Pa'li walked dirt road and then he'd go get Pa'li to bring it back home. "But I'll tell you after we get ikrans, I promise."

"I'll hold you to your promise Ko."

She smiled proudly, having won back her old friendship with the stoic man.

"Oh how mad Loh and Takov will be." She said to herself, both having caught smaller beasts then she did.

Ko rubbed her face, climbing out of the link, tired but not exhausted from the feast tonight for her success.

"You've been gone for long." Grace greeted with a snide remark.

"Sully is still there, complain to him, I need to walk around, this place is cramped." She said, walking passed her with her crutch that waited for her next to her link, always ready and propped up despite being sure she knocked it over several times, Grace seemed to have always stood it back up.

"Don't fall asleep outside or the ikrans will eat you." Grace said, letting Ko grab and exopack and tie it to her waist with the mask sealed to her face, she knew the place this site was at was out of direct danger, hidden away, so she didn't bother stopping her. "And close the door behind you."

She grabbed a jacket, as a human it could get just a bit chilly in the night, she already wore leather gloves constantly because her hands were always cold no matter the time of day when she was outside the link so she didn't want to give her body reason to actually try to catch an alien cold.

"Duh!" She said, voice slightly modified by the mask as she closed the decompression room door behind her, the Pandoran air rushing in as she opened the second door.

She stepped out with a sigh, it was dark but the gas giant was reflecting enough light to clearly see plus the flora she walked on would light up with lights.

Her human eyes saw less then the avatar, the world seemed duller, less vibrant, more silent too, the senses of the Na'vi were strong, she missed it.

She walked around the site and to the little cliff there, sitting on the alien glowing grass, crutch next to her.

She sighed, wanting to light a cig but she'd need to do this inside so she just watched the scenery, ignoring the pain that made her rethink each day to rip or not to rip off her leg to escape it.

She put her arm on the messed up leg and sighed, Quaritch had tried to play the 'I'll fix it card' to get to her and at moments like this it could have almost worked.... If it wasn't for the fact that he was an evil man that cared not for anything on this world.

She sighed deeply, having been used to a constant level off pain she could only escape as an avatar.

This body was slowly feeling like a burden, the dream, and the avatar was reality.

She pulled off her gloves and stared at her palms and back of her hands, not blue, having bio-luminescence dots nor stripped, they felt so.... Alien to her now and she was sure Jake felt the same way, having seen him try to stand without thinking or stare at his hands like she did currently while outside of the link, slowly getting used to this Na'vi life too.

"I wish you were here to see this, sister." She said. "Anko would have been lost in the crowd of earth but you'd have been here on such a lush planet filled with life."

She leaned back, putting her hands behind he--"AAAAAH!!" She yelled, feeling a hard carapace under her palm but before she could pull her weight off it, a strong jab was felt.

She jerked her hand, throwing the creature up because of it and it landed in her lap, with another scream she shoved it off the ledge.

"Jesus fuck." She muttered, shivering, in her human body this bug was almost the length of her forearm, hand not included.

Hand.

She looked at her hand with a tilted down head and furred brows, there was an odd BB ball sized hole right between the knuckles of the pinkie finger and the ring finger next to it.

She flexed her hand, it was only lightly bleeding with a sting from her wound itself but nothing more.

She waited a bit but nothing happened, the hand didn't fall off, didn't turn green, still wasn't falling off, didn't even hurt that much or oozed, still didn't fall off.... She sighed, reminding her of a cat's bloody scratch, a painful thing that would heal soon enough if given time and not bothered.

"Damned bug, biting me, just my luck." She rubbed her hand, quickly pulling her gloves on. "Never again." She said, thinking about taking them off outside the research site.

That little incident made her struggle to her feet and head to Site 26, for once, fed up with the fauna of this world she loved otherwise .
