This story is set in the fourteen-year gap between the first and second Avatar films. In the first chapter, Jake Sully, newly appointed leader of the Omatikaya, is tasked with finding a new home for his clan. In the first Avatar film, the clan's Home Tree was destroyed. After his twin brother Tommy's death ex Marine Jake Sully takes over his responsibilities, with his work having him travel to the distant moon called Pandora, but it isn't the only thing he has taken responsibility of, that would be his nine year old niece Mia Sully. Now he has to balance being on a new and unknown world while having the responsibility of a very curious child, what ever could go wrong.

I did not want to come to Pandora, not really. I only came here for my sister. She went offline 5 years ago. When she first went, she went as a scientist, a botanist, to learn about the Na'vi and the world around them. We sent videos back and forth until one day she stopped. No more videos, no more responses. The only thing is that the RDA won't return my calls, and refuses to tell me anything about my sister or her team. Since then, I studied and worked my ass off to get here, to Pandora. I will find my sister and may take down the RDA while I'm at it.

Camelia Stannis was never meant to wake up again. Whatever sent her into the dark did so quietly, cleanly, and without explanation. When she opens her eyes, Pandora has moved on without her, and her body hasn't quite decided if it wants to follow. She doesn't stay awake for long. There's a lot of new characters that take a few chapters to understand their position, I'll add clarifications at the beginning whenever needed. First part of this doesn't much mention anything relating to the franchise, but builds up our main character. The years should help with the timeline.
