A Second Chance

chapter ten

I kept re-reading the book over and over until I got home. I sighed.

Did Seung Ho... put this in my bag?

I walked inside my house, it was quiet and empty. As expected.

I lied in my bed with big shorts and big shirt on.  I stared at the book, I opened the book once again. And I read it.

Err! Err!

I woke up, "huh?!" I wiped the drool off the corners of my mouth. I looked down, the book was open.

I must've knocked out while reading.

I checked my alarm, I took a warm shower. I started getting dizzy, "what's happening...?"

I fainted.

"Wake up young Ji Hyun" that voice. No, couldn't be. My eyes widened, it was the spirit again.

"What...?" I checked myself, I was in clothes. "I was just in the shower! What just happened!?" I yelled at it "I called you," I looked around me." I stayed quiet.

"Ji Hyun. You're focusing on too much of the past, if you keep getting distracted. Who knows, maybe young Seung Ho would end up with life" I spoke up. "What if we don't want this life? What if we want to go back to our old life?" I asked.

The spirit just stared at me.

"Why do you want to? The life you both had was miserable" it turned away. "You... both died" my eyes widened.

"I'm sorry, what?!" I yelled "how did we..." I slowly remembered. We fell into the ocean below us.

"But, what about Seung Ho? He should've lived" the spirit looked at me again. "What do you think, young Ji Hyun?"

Seung Ho tried saving me.

"Time is running out, young Ji Hyun" "what if you don't pick?" "You'll both be erased from this universe. And never see the light again, you'll just be some particles" I gulped.

That sounds so scary and lonely.

"But what about—" it cut me off "no more questions. I'm sending you back, hopefully this helped you" "wait—."

I gasped and sat up from the tub, I blinked a few times. I winced, "oww," I touched my head lightly, and winced again "that shit hurt" I got up, I was a little light head from being hit on the head.

"Seung Ho tried saving me. Ugh, this is hard. I feel like I owe him this life. He wouldn't be here if it wasn't for me slipping" I finished showering. I got dressed and started heading to school.

I saw Seung Ho reading a book and his friends following him while playing around with each other. I stared at him.

"Ji Hyun," I jumped and turned around "Ha Joon?" "Hey," he smiled, I blushed. "Would you like to get food after school?" Ha Joon offered, I nodded. "I would love that" and we walked into school together.

Ha Joon dropped me off at my class, he ruffled my hair. "Come to my class during passing time" I nodded, he left to his class and I walked over to my class.

Thinking about it. Why should I owe him this life? No one told him to try and save me! Hell he could've been in that life with Kang Hana...

That pinched my heart. Maybe cause she would've ended up being their step mother, giving them the great life.

I clenched my fist. I deserve this life..

I sighed.

But so does he.

"Ji Hyun?" "Huh?" I looked up from my notebook "are you paying attention?" All eyes were on me "oh, yes" I smiled, and put my head down.
