Elodie Carter, the star of a possible comeback of the season pulled out of the French Grand Prix with just minutes to go. All cars were lined up on the grid when hers was rolled off with the assistance of her team. Midway through the race, she gave an interview, informing the media that it was related to her injury that has seemed to hassle her all season long so far.
She spoke in an interview during the race about potentially having to sit out of the rest of the season which would be a huge upset for the driver and the team as social media is left wondering who on earth could possibly replace the Mercedes driver. The top choices seem to be either her boyfriend, Max Verstappen (although unlikely as he has an agreement with opposition Red Bull) or Lewis Hamilton, the driver who retired from the sport a couple of years ago.
We hope this isn't true and that Elodie can come back to fight for the rest of the championship given her recent fantastic form and wish her the best recovery as we head into the summer break.
