Ericka's pov
As we were walking through the woods, according to Rick we're thirty minutes away from the battlefield, I pulled Shane a side for small talk as the others walked a head of us.
"What is it princess?" He asks
"Just in case I don't make it, you have to be strong! I don't want you going back to your old ways, I need you to continue to be the Shane you are now for Shay." I say to him getting a bit teary eyed
"Baby, where is this coming from?" He asked pulling me close to him
"You never know what can go wrong in these kinds of situations, I just needed to tell you that just in case something happens to me." I tell him as he gets teary eyed himself. "I love you Shane, just please don't be that asshole you were at the farm, our daughter will need you, you can't go down that dark path ever again, I don't want that for you or for her, promise me Walsh!"
"I promise Ericka!" He says holding me tightly "if anything happens to me, you keep fighting you hear me. Don't stop and focus on me, you keep fighting with everyone until all of those sons of bitches are dead." Shane says as he chokes up a bit, "I don't want you to be angry, I need you to be strong for Shay as well, ok? Don't shut anyone out, don't become a different version of who you are now, don't lose that beautiful smile I fell in love with almost twenty years ago alright? Promise me, princess!"
"I promise, amor! I say looking into my husband's eyes
"I love you Ericka! Forever and always princess." Shane says just before we kissed one another passionately as if it were the last time, wait this could possibly be the last time.
"Always and forever, Shane!" I tell him as we begin walking back to our group
******Thirty minutes later******
"They should've been here by now!" Rosita tells Rick
"Yeah, probably hidin' tryin' to ambush us again." Daryl says holding his crossbow ready to attack the first savior he sees
"They're here." Shane says lifting up his weapon "Eugene and Dwight are tied up."
"Everyone when it's time don't hit Gabriel, Dwight or Eugene." Rick instructs us.
"RICK!!!" Yelled Shane following Rick
"AMOR!" I yell still firing my weapon at the saviors as my husband ran after Rick who ran after Negan
Shane's pov
"AFTER THE SHIT YOU PUT US THROUGH, GIVE ME ONE REASON WHY I SHOULD LET YOU LIVE!" I shouted at Negan
"Because, I can be more of a leader than Rick will ever be." He replied "plus I can keep your wife happy and your baby girl can call me daddy "
Once Negan mentioned my family, I saw red and launched myself at him tackling him, punching him repeatedly till Rick pulled me off of him. "THIS IS NOT WHAT CARL WANTED!" Yelled Rick which caused me to look at a battered Negan
"Yeah, you asshole!" Negan said "Carl would've been a great use for me in the future." This time is was Rick who went after Negan and I had to pull him off.
Negan was trying to stand in front of us when I saw Rick slit Negan's throat, causing Negan to fall back.
"I see you took a page out of my book." I say patting Rick on the back
