March 26, 2022 - Night

Nabi doesn't really drink much, despite having a rather large capacity, but today just felt like a day to get drunk and sad.

She wanted to get drunk to the point until all her feelings and emotions would get numb and so she wouldn't be able to feel the empty pain she is feeling right now in her heart cage.

Nabi despised that woman so much but she despised herself even more for caring. Nabi's just afraid that even the cans of beer won't be able to clear her mind tonight.

She closed her eyes and hung her head back, the cool spring air nipping at her bare neck with her hair flying in her face.

It is a bit chilly to wear a dress outside at this time of the day yet Nabi couldn't bring herself to get up and go home. Her feet hurt from walking around in high heels the entire day so she took them off as she sat by the Han River on a stone made stairway all alone.

As weird as it sounds, sitting alone at Han River with couples surrounding her made Nabi feel less lonely. This way she was at least still surrounded by stranger, albeit they are strangers. Back home and all alone, the hard reality will hit her and only make her feel more depressed.

Nabi didn't stay for the entirety of the bridal shower. She stayed long enough to make her mother uncomfortable then left before she herself could get any further uncomfortable as well. Nabi couldn't help but smile at the irony in the fact that she even felt uncomfortable at the idea of making her mother uncomfortable.

Without thinking much, Nabi took the last few sips of her beer in a one large gulp, letting the bitter taste of the liquor hit the back of her throat, wincing and frowning at how strong the alcohol is.

"Nabi?"

Nabi whipped her head around. Someone just called her, she's sure of it. Nabi narrowed her eyes slightly as she tried to pinpoint who just called out her name and allowed them to widen when Nabi finally pinpointed who her intruder is.

"Nabi? What are you doing here alone?" Mingyu asked as he stepped away from the shadows, revealing his bare face with a black cap on his head. Nabi thought Mingyu is brave for showing up in public without his mask on, especially when he is so easily recognizable.

"Mingyu?" Nabi said, blinking. The cold and the booze is starting to make her thoughts a bit fuzzy.

Mingyu stepped closer towards her slowly, taking in the cans of beer next to her and her heels which are also lying next to her in a lopsided manner. It wouldn't take a genius to figure out that Nabi is sad and Mingyu immediately grew on his guard, figuring out the best way to approach the situation naturally and not scare Nabi off.

Mingyu has always known that Nabi had a quiet and shy personality, unlike his large and extroverted self. Really, Mingyu and Nabi have absolutely zero similarities; from personalities to hobbies to movie genres and even to food. Everything about the two just screamed extreme polar opposite and yet Mingyu couldn't help but care for her.

Even when he knows how dangerous and wrong it is.

"What are you doing here?" Nabi was the one who asked, surprising Mingyu. Normally she didn't really care to ask much about him.

"I was actually out with my sister the entire day. I was just returning back to the dorm," Mingyu told her honestly.

"Yeah, this really does look like a dorm," Nabi retorted sarcastically, referring to the fact that they are currently seated in a massive open space with the Han River in front of them.

"I stopped by for some fresh air. The weather is nice," Mingyu explained himself.

"The weather is nice," Nabi agreed with him as she put down the can of beer in her hand next to her on the stone stairway and said, "That's sweet of you. Hanging out with your sister."
