I sat quiet, fighting the urge to burst into tears as she spoke again.

"Hello?" she asked "Liam?"

My heartbreak quickly turned to blind rage; hearing her say his name, infuriated me beyond belief.

I hummed "Nope, sorry, it's Lyla..."

"Lyla?" I could hear the confusion in her voice "Lyla who?"

I blinked surprised; I'm not sure why though, no one ever told the mistress about the wife, it kind of defeated the purpose.

"Gallagher" I answered "Liam's wife"

"His wife?" Even more confusion. "He doesn't have a wife..."

I scoffed with a laugh "I can promise you, he does"

"You're Lyla, his ex-girlfriend..."

Ex-girlfriend....I wonder what else Liam had told her.

"I'm not his ex- anything...I am very much the current wife"

"Look..." I sighed "You live in LA right?"

"Close enough......why?"

"Because I think we need to have a talk..."

"What?"

"I'm going to come to LA and we're going to set everything straight..."

"You're coming here?"

"Why not?" I asked "You obviously don't believe me, so..."

"Because that's insane!" She yelled

She obviously didn't know me very well.

Liam left for Japan the next morning and I immediately went to pack myself a bag as soon as Liam closed the front door behind him.

He hadn't told me goodbye, but we still weren't on speaking terms.

I called my mom cradling the phone on my shoulder as I packed my bag.

"...Of course I'll watch her, Lyla, you know that"

"I just thought I'd ask and make sure!" I laughed a little

"Are you going to surprise Liam in Japan?"

I winced zipping my suitcase shut, I knew that was coming.

"N-no...we still aren't talking..."

"Delyla, where are you going?"

"To LA for a couple days..."

"To do what?" She asked

I rolled my eyes; I could tell where this was going.

"I'm not going to meet another man, Mom; so you can quit worrying"

"I didn't say that, Lyla..."

"But I know you were thinking it; trust me, I learned my lesson the last time alright?"

Sort of...

"I'm just going to see a..." I stopped trying to find the right word "Friend..." I finished

She was quiet for a minute and then she spoke "A girlfriend?"

I sighed "Yes Mom, she's a girl"

"When will you be back?"

"Probably the day after tomorrow..."

"Just bring Adeline by when you're ready to go then..."

"I will, thanks Mom"
