The moon was already on the horizon as I got home.

Abby was on her second job as a villain, probably causing some small damage to someone to pay the rent. The last time it was a small pet shop releasing all animals and steal all the money from it. As it was my job to get the mail and sort it out, she gave me permission to open her letters. Unfortunately, that is when I realised, she was in massive debt. Not was the academy on her tail but also the big man himself. She ordered all sorts of rubbish just to rob small shops.

It gets worse considering that this is the third warning by black hat himself. She is in mortal danger if she doesn't pay.

One side it isn't my problem as she chose this, but on the other she is my friend. Besides that, Abby has kids, they need their mother, villain or not. I must reason with her to get a loan and pay him as soon as possible. The academy only wrote the first warning, so she got a little time for this one, pinning it against the fridge. As for mine, I got nothing to worry about. Not a single letter that gives me bad news, only for Abbey and they keep piling up to the ceiling. Honestly how obsessed is she with black hat? Dozens of catalogues, videos, books and many more only for her kids to become better villains. I admire her dedication to give her children a future, but does it have to be villains?

At the fridge was already one letter ready to be taken care of. It was the invitation to the organisation. Frustrated I pulled it off and placed the debt on it instead, priority first. The other is places under the fruit bowl, hopefully she forgets it. Until Abby is back, I got myself cosy on the sofa, with some tea and a movie, cuddling into the blankets.

Knock!

"Did you forget your keys again?"

Knock knock!

It came from the opposite direction...the balcony.

Close to get a heart attack, a bright light appeared from it, making my eyes hurt, "Turn off the lights!" Who appeared behind it made me frown big time? It was Mr. shiny pants. "What on earth does he want?" I murmured, opening the door, "Do you know what time it is? What do you want?"

"I only came here to ask you something. Is it a bad time?"

"Let me see, I am making myself comfortable and turned off the lights to get into to mood to get tired and then you around with your massive torchlight butt and gave me almost a heart attack and close to getting blind...so yes...bad timing."

He apologized quickly, handing over a letter, "I hope this will make it up to you. It is an invitation to our anniversary of the organization. As you and your colleagues have been wonderful supporters to us with your shop, we would like to invite you to the party."

"You realize we also serve Villains"

"I know, your villain colleague won't get a letter for this."

"She is my best friend"

"Won't make a difference"

"It does to me"

He chuckles lightly, smiling wide, "Just think about it, you got plenty of time. I will see you around"

Hopefully not, I thought. Closing the door, I was far form sleepy thanks to his torchlight. Now I had to read something instead and hoping for it to get me tired.

Knock Knock!

"Get lost!"

"Y/N?"

Ok that is the other door. The voice sounds familiar. Removing the lock and a man with a paper bag over his head appeared. Now this caught me by surprise, "Doctor, what are you doing here at this hour?" He bowed slightly as an apology before showing off a letter, "Sorry but I just wanted to drop by to give you this." The same letter Abby received countless times from the organization. Feared the worst, "Listen Doc, can't we discuss this over some tea please? She really had trouble to get her act together, but she will pay you back I promise, just don't give her the final warning just yet."

"Final warning? No, no, no, I don't write those. Lord Black hat does them and trust me, he won't be so kind to remind her about the warning with a harmless visit like that. No, I am here for you."

"Me? What did I do?"

"He laughed at my expression of pure panic, "Don't worry, you're in no trouble. I got an invitation for..."

"Me!" Out of the blue appeared Appy, ripping the letter of the Doctors hands, "Thank you for giving me one more. I don't know how I could lose mine."

I snorted, "In this dump it is pretty easy. The letter is in the kitchen."

"Oh, you found it, good."

Before the Doc could say something, Abigail interrupted him, pushing his body away from her door. Not only was irritated but so was I, "Abby, what is going on?"

"I thought I lost my invitation for the organization, so I asked of another one"

"I hope this isn't one for me"

"Nonsense! I would never..."

"Show me"

"Huh?"

"No huh, show me!"

Abby had no choice but to hand it over. It was a little too easy as she gave it without a fight, which I expected it to happen. And she was right, her name was on the letter, "Sorry for doubting you. I go to bed. See you in the morning."

"Night Y/N" Giving me a little kiss on the forehead I left her alone in the kitchen. Scolding her now wouldn't be nice after I accused her of getting me an invitation for the black hat organisation. I can still do that in the morning.

Abby sighted loud as her smile got wider, "Doc you are a genius". Without a second thought she turned off the lights and headed toward the balcony. There she held up the letter towards the moon. Slowly her name changed to mine. Nothing could change her good mood now, placing it next to her invitation, only to see the massive debt, going pale.

"Oh no...."
