When Elijah stepped into his bedroom, he was surprised to smell the sage burning from the silencing spell. What could Mackenzie possibly have to tell him she didn't want Klaus to hear? It made him a bit nervous.
She had taken a shower and was ready for bed, although he doubted she would stay until morning. She would probably join Olivia downstairs in Klaus' study once he fell asleep. He tried not to be too curious about what she was doing, but he couldn't help but worry.
"Something wrong?" he asked as he started to undo his tie.
"Plenty wrong," she replied with a sigh.
She sat on the edge of the bed as she watched him cast his tie to the side and remove his jacket.
