As the producers sat me down in front of the camera, I couldn't help but feel nervous. My heart started racing as I questioned what the hell I signed myself up for.I quickly snapped myself back into reality as the producer said "tell us a bit about yourself."
"My names Melbourne but everyone at home calls me Mel. I'm 22 and I'm a professional surfer. I was born in Florida but I'm currently residing in Northern California." I said as I smiled at the camera.
"What's your usual type?" The producer asked.
"Honestly everyone back home would say I don't have one considering all my ex's are completely different from one another. But I do like a bit of a joker, and of course someone who treats me well."
The producer gave me a thumbs up and asked one last question. "What brought you to Love Island?"
"Nothing in particular really, I was just ready for a change. When you do something like surfing for as long as I have you find yourself wanting to explore more and go out of your element. Most girls are dying to find a romantic connection in here, and although I would love to find one as well I would also be just as content leaving the island with a few new friends."
We finished up the interview and things started moving very quickly. Before I knew it I was in a jeep pulling up the villa ready to start my Love Island Journey.
Authors note: Hi guys! This is my first ever story so please be patent as I learn the ropes of it. I also wanted to add that I will be giving each character a description of what they look like, but please feel free to envision them however you want to. Here's what Melbourne looks like:
