𓂃 𓈒𓏸‪‪ 𓇼 Summer had always been my favorite season. Sun-warmed sand, salty air, and the beach house in Cousins, North Carolina that held a lifetime of memories. Every year, my mom, my brother, and I spent our summers there with her best friend and her kids, Will and Grace. Will was two years older than me, just enough to make him feel untouchable when we were kids, and impossible to ignore as we grew older. We were inseparable every summer, even as life pulled us back to Massachusetts and Pennsylvanian the rest of the year. But the summer going into my senior year of high school was different. Will came back already knowing he'd been drafted by the San Jose Sharks, and we both understood it would be our last summer the same way. Maybe that's why friendship finally crossed a line, turning into something deeper, reckless, and unforgettable. When Will left for the NHL, he took that summer with him.
