Ellie's POV

Sam, Dean and Bobby were working tirelessly to find a way to stop Cass and Crowley. I couldn't get upstairs to the bedroom as easily any more and so I'd been moved into Bobby's room with Maddie and Dean. Bobby had been sleeping in our old room. I felt bad taking Bobby's room from him, but he said it was the least he could do. The boys hardly let me help with anything any more, so while they scoured pages and pages of books or entertained Maddie, I had taken to spending more and more time in the kitchen cooking.

Dean wouldn't stop treating me like a porcelain doll, trying to get me to stay off my feet as much as possible. I tried to tell him that I still had at least a month and a half to go, and that I was fine, but he was adamant.

"You know what, what if you guys went somewhere else?" Sam finally suggested one day.

"What?" Dean asked.

He was trying to read a book while also hovering over me. I was standing in the kitchen listening while Maddie played on the floor nearby.

"Yeah, what if you took Ellie and Maddie and stayed somewhere else out of the way. Bobby and I have this covered, and we can call you if we need anything. You're obviously distracted, Dean, and we need your head clear if we're going to get anything done. So take them, keep them safe somewhere, and we'll keep you updated."

I didn't really like the idea of Dean having more time to hover, but I also knew he was driving Sam and Bobby nearly as insane as he was driving me, so, when Dean admitted it wasn't a bad idea, I reluctantly agreed. So, Dean packed our bags and drove the three of us to a local motel in town to stay in for the time being.

"Dean, seriously, I'm fine," I assured him for the umpteenth time as he helped me get situated on the bed.

"Just relax, okay?" he told me. "I can take care of Maddie and get you anything you need to stay comfortable."

"Dean, I'm pregnant, not dying. Besides, I can be up and about. I don't need to lie around all the time."

"I just need to know you're safe, alright? I don't know what I would do if-"

"Hey," I stopped him, grabbing onto this hand. "I'm right here. Zep and I are perfectly healthy and happy. You don't need to worry about us so much."

Dean's worried expression softened a bit, and he leaned in to kiss my temple.

"I know. I love you, Ellie Bear."

"I love you, too."

Sam had called Dean with some urgent news about something he and Bobby had found, so he left me and Maddie to go see what it was. Maddie was sitting on one of the beds, watching cartoons on the TV, and I got up to go use the restroom. While I was in there, I heard the door to the motel room open and Maddie crying out for me.

"Mommy!"

"Maddie?"

I hurried back into the room just in time to see a man dragging my daughter toward the door.

"No!"

Before I could move to stop him, three more men entered the room. I didn't recognize the first two, who each grabbed one of my arms, but I did recognize the third.

"Crowley."

"Hello, puppy. It's been a while," the demon king greeted me.

"Let my daughter go."

He inhaled deeply, taking a step towards me. The other two demons were still restraining me and the demon who'd taken Maddie had disappeared out the door.
