Everything was ready
for Jisung's baby.

There was a beautiful white
bassinet standing beside the
boy's bed so he could feed the
little one at night without
having to leave his warm bed,
there was a changing table in
the corner and the dresser
was filled with all kinds of
clothes just in a tiny version.

The plushie version of Soonie
was sitting in the baby bed,
waiting for its owner to
finally greet it.

And Minho had even gotten
a second bassinet for downstairs
so Jisung could put the baby to
sleep in the living room as well
as outside on the veranda
where he loved to be.

The only one who wasn't ready
for the little one's arrival was
Jisung himself.

He was scared of the c-section
in two days, he was scared that
the anesthesia wouldn't work
but that no one would notice.

He was scared that they'd
cut him open while he was
fully conscious and could
feel everything.

And deep in his heart he was
also scared because the baby
would be there then.

How would everything
go after that?

How long would Minho
let him stay?

Would he finish school?

Would he live?

But maybe he was somehow
glad that this pregnancy was
finally over soon.

The pains had been unbearable lately,
there had been days where Jisung
hadn't even been able to leave the
bed because of his intense back
pains but every time Minho had
wanted to take him to Dr Yoo or
the hospital, he had vehemently
declined that offer.

They'd just stay at home,
the younger cuddled close
to the ravenette because in
his opinion this was the only
way he could forget about the
ache for a moment.

And Minho would just let the
boy rest his head on his chest,
stroking his hair gently and
singing to him whenever he
was struggling with the
contractions.

Yeah, everything was set and
planned until the baby's arrival.

Or so they thought.

It was late at night, around two am,
another one of those nights where
Jisung had woken up every hour
because of the pains just to go
back to sleep eventually in
hope it'd get better.

The stars had sparkled so brightly
outside on the dark night sky when
he had pushed the curtains aside
but the pressure on his bladder
had reminded him that it was time
for another one of his million toilet
trips at night so he left his bed
with a huff.

Jisung was one of those people
who didn't turn the light on in
every room he needed to pass
to reach the restroom,
his eyes were far too tired
to get blinded like this and
he also didn't want to risk
waking Minho up.

He knew the way,
he managed.

And only this way he was able
to hear Soonie's desperate meows
and how he was clawing on the
door downstairs when he was
on his way back to his room,
the cat flap probably got stuck
again leaving the kitty alone
outside in the cold.

Poor Soonie.

Before going downstairs,
Jisung waddled back to put his
fluffy socks on so his feet wouldn't
get cold from the stone floor.

Maybe that was the mistake.

Minho was woken up by a
loud scream ripping the
innocent silence of the night
apart and a loud thud coming
from downstairs.

And the moment he rushed
outside slamming the light
switch on on his way, his heart
sank seeing the boy laying
slumped against the wall at
the bottom of the stairs.

Jisung was clutching his belly as
he screamed at the top of his lungs.

He had slipped on the stairs.
