A few days had passed but the
moment Jisung had woken up,
he knew something was wrong.

Normally Minho would always
wake him up but not that day.

It was so quiet,
the ravenette wasn't in the
kitchen humming a soft tune
as he prepared some scrambled
eggs or another one of his
delicious dishes nor was
he downstairs in the bakery.

Even more concerning was the
sign hanging on the shop door:
'Closed due to family reasons.'

But Minho was also nowhere
to be found.

Not in his room,
not in the kitchen,
not downstairs but
the white Audi stood
in the parking lot so he
hadn't driven anywhere.

It was strange.

Jisung huffed as he let himself
fall down on the soft cushions
of the couch in the living room,
closing his eyes as he rubbed
his bump.

Looking for Minho was exhausting,
especially walking the stairs up
and down millions of times.

And lately he had started to
feel Braxton hicks contractions,
he hated them.

They always came out of the
blue and hurt like a bitch plus
the baby also didn't like it
very much.

But other than at such moments,
the unborn had been quiet the
past few days.

No little kicks,
no moving even when
Minho was near and singing,
only barely noticeable shifts
from time to time.

Doctor Yoo had said to them
that this could be because the
baby used all the energy to grow,
there wasn't that much time left to finally get a healthy weight.

Jisung's eyes fell on the veranda
door that was slightly opened,
how hadn't he noticed this earlier?

He stood up carefully with his
hand supporting his back
and waddled over to the door,
pulling it open.

At first he also didn't see the
older outside, only a few birds
were chirping in the bushes and
he noticed Soonie sneaking
towards them, making him smile.

He loved the orange kitty so much.

A gentle breeze made the
leaves rustle and the poppies
were swinging softly in the
wind as Jisung walked through
the garden, still looking for Minho.

He subconsciously walked down
the little path that led through
the small paradise, the one he
had always wondered where
it led to.

Well, he knew where it led to.

To the beautiful bush with
thousands of little purple blossoms.

A lilac bush.

"Minho?"

Jisung whispered softly when
he noticed the kneeling presence,
his eyebrows furrowed when he
noticed the almost inaudible sniffles.

He was unsure if he should go closer,
he didn't want to overstep
any boundaries.

But before he was able to
go back to the house again,
Minho had already noticed him.

"Jisung?"

The older looked so broken,
the tear streaks shimmering
on his cheeks and his eyes
bloodshot and still he tried
to smile for the boy.

It hurt the blue-haired
male's heart so much,
Minho had been so strong,
so brave and so full of love
but seeing him like this now
was just heartbreaking.

And it was only then when
Jisung noticed the small bouquet
of white lilies under the bush
right beside a small nature stone.

"Today…"

Minho breathed out shakily,
fresh tears already threatening
to fall again but he harshly bit on
his lip to suppress any sob.

"Today would have been
my due date."

Jisung kept quiet,
he only sat down beside the
older and grabbed his hand,
squeezing it softly.

He wasn't in the place to say anything,
it just didn't feel right.

"My little girl, I miss her so much.
My little star."
