CHAPTER 2: What The Fuck Ever!

It's been several years since I have seen the faces of this shitty town I had called 'home' all my life. I definitely don't miss it! However, I promised the Wolf Council I would be on my best behavior and agreed to return home until they figured out if rather or not I was ever meant to be put away in the first place or not.

Normally I live by the rule of thumb that you should never live with regret but what happened to me years ago, I DO regret. However, since there isn't much more I can do now about things or try to change them and since they are looking into my case again, I guess I have no other choice but to return home.

Luckily my parents aren't going to be home and I for one am very pleased with that because we don't get along much anyways. Then after hearing about my brother leaving to visit our uncle and some cousins, I felt things couldn't be more perfect.

I can relax and enjoy myself. Try and catch up with some old friends (if they are still living here that is).

Tonight as my first night back, since I arrived so late, I was starving and because there weren't many places opened to eat except for the pizza joint in town, I decided to head over there.

The moment I stepped inside, the scent of vanilla invaded my nose and right away my wolf said, 'mate'.

That couldn't be right though. I'm not supposed to have a mate. I was told years ago, that would never happen for me. So I tried ignoring it and got behind several people to wait my turn and order.

While waiting in line though, I tried ignoring people after recognizing me and the whispers began to kick up, just as I knew it would.

That didn't matter at the moment, mainly due to my wolf not letting me even hear what they were saying because he was too distracted by the scent as much as I now was and agreed to try and see who this so-called 'mate' supposedly was.

Then as soon as this girl walked past me, carrying some food, I smelled the scent more and my wolf shouted in excitement, 'Mate!'

She didn't stop or even look at me though. Didn't her wolf say something to her also? What the hell?! Wait, maybe it wasn't her. Maybe my wolf is just as tired as I am from our long trip here that he isn't in his right mind neither.....Yeah, that has to be it.

I shook the thought from my mind and proceeded towards the counter to give my order after the lines seemed to move quicker now.

While waiting for the food, I kept thinking about the small glimpse of the girl I saw and I must say that she looks hot as hell.

A Few Days Later

Throughout the next few days after arriving, I began getting in touch with my old friends and we agreed to all get together and hang out tonight at a local bar to shoot some pool and catch up.

After getting ready and start heading out, I smell that vanilla scent again and it excites my wolf like it did that other night.

"Stop it! It's not our mate! We don't have one, remember?!?" I snap at him to try and make him drop the topic before continuing to head towards the bar.

We argued on our way to meet up at the bar with my friends and he told me that the discussion wasn't over with but, I don't care. I think he is just lonely since it has been a while since we have been with any woman.

Immediately I am welcomed back by all my friends who I grew up with and right away we start catching up and having fun while downing some drinks and shooting pool. It's almost as if I never left.

The entire night was fun and this girl and I even hooked up towards the end and went back to my place then after we finished and she left, I stood out in the backyard to look up at the clear night sky and heard my wolf tell me he needed to run since it has been so long. So I removed my clothes then shifted before he took off sprinting into the woods.

We ran for so long until eventually stopping and smelled that damn scent, yet again.

THIS time, I'm not as in control, so my wolf takes the initiative the moment we walk closer towards the scent until we stop and see a beautiful dark purple furred wolf, sitting by a tree, looking up at the sky.

Next we begin slowly approaching her but my wolf accidentally steps onto a branch and snaps it - startling the wolf who quickly snaps their head in my direction before starting to take off fast into the woods.

My wolf hurries to chase after her and tries to ask why she is avoiding us. If we truly are mates, I am sure she feels it too. And since my wolf REFUSES to listen to me (practically is ignoring me at this point), I have no choice but to go along with this.

I suppose too that deep down, I am interested in finding out what her deal is.

"Wait!" I try and mindlink her as I start to catch up to her wolf.

"Please leave me alone!" She replies while sounding a bit panicked and afraid as she continues running, faster than me, I must add.

"I'm not going to hurt you, I just wanted to say hi." I quickly tell her.

The next thing I see and hear is her suddenly tripping over something and rolls on the ground.

Right as I try and step closer to see if she needs help or not, she snaps at me, causing me to back off.

"Woah! Don't need to be a bitch and snap at me! You tripping is on you!" I fire back at her.

"I didn't ask you to follow me! Now go!" She shouts to me.

"Fine! But remember this when you come begging for me to comfort you and accept you!" I yelled back at her before taking off.

My fucking wolf! Why the hell did he say that to her?!?!

Throughout the entire run back to the house, I argued with my wolf as he was yelling at me and arguing back about how much of an asshole I was to our mate and how I should have let him continue talking to her.

Meanwhile, I was trying to remind him that she CLEARLY doesn't accept us or want us as hers and that more than likely, this was all a misunderstanding and that the Moon Goddess needs to get her shit together and fix this....whatever it is.....false match making or whatever the hell she wants to call it.
