Surprisingly, the day had been quieter than usual; not something that came very often at Seattle Grace Hospital, and it kept everyone on their toes. It had been unusually quiet and as the saying goes, 'it's always the calm before the storm'.

You made your way over to the main reception and asked for your patient's test results. Alex Karev had just been passing by when he had seen you patiently waiting. With his signature smirk plastered onto his face, he decided to go over.

You had just been passed a clipboard when you saw someone in the corner of your eye. With a sigh, you flip a piece of paper over the board and subtly move away. You didn't have to look up to know who it was. Alex Karev; he had tried all week to get you to go on a date with him. And you were not the type of woman to submit to his boyish charms, besides you were already in a very healthy relationship.

Dr. Addison Montgomery watched in amusement as you tried to wave Alex off. He was persistent, she had to give him that. Every time you had moved away, Alex was pulled along with you like a magnet. Last night, you had begged her to make him stop. You had gotten onto your knees and begged at her feet. It had made her laugh at how desperate you were for him to leave you alone and yet she had shaken her head and climbed into bed, pulling you along with her.

Alex Karev tilted back your clipboard and shot you a smile. You rolled your eyes, you were done. You had gotten onto your knees last night, and for what? Nothing. You opened your mouth to shoo him away when an idea planted itself into your brain. Addison had refused to help you with Karev and now you had a way to make her do it. You knew she was watching. It was ever so slightly cruel, but she deserved it.

"Hey, Karev." You greeted with a flirty smile, to which he was slightly taken aback by, but was into nonetheless.

"You've been avoiding me, and I know why." He winked.

"You do?" You questioned, a hint of panic evident in your voice.

"I do," he confirmed. "You like me, you're just too shy to admit it, so why don't you join me for coffee tomorrow?" He offered.

"Hmm I don't know if I should, Karev." You frowned.

"C'mon, princess, you know you want to." His hand came up to cup your jaw as his thumb caressed your cheek. Addison's eyes widened from the room she was in, what were you doing? She excused herself from the patient before powerwalking her way to you.

You had continued to flirt with Alex when you felt a hand snake to your waist. You look up to see your girlfriend, Dr. Montgomery, next to you. And by the smile on her face, she was pissed. You felt her gently squeeze and Alex looked down at the hand before looking back up at the two of you. You watch, with a blush, as he connected the dots to realising his mistake.

"Isn't there something you should be doing rather than flirting with nurse, Karev?" Addison questioned him with a smile.

"Oh look at that," he brought his pager out from his pocket, "duty calls." He waved it awkwardly before spinning on his heel and leaving.

You let out a wide grin, "Thank you," you hummed victoriously.

You looked up at her just in time to see her roll her eyes, realising what you had just done, what she had just done. "Clever girl." She whispered down to you before pressing a quick peck to your head and leaving.

It wasn't like you hid your relationship; Karev just failed to notice.
