Angela's pov
------------------

To say I was disappointed waking up to an empty bed this morning , was an understatement. I don't even know why I felt that way. It didn't mean anything.

Right?

I sigh deeply and get out of bed. I go take a shower and finish all my other bathroom duties. I put my hair into a messy bun and just decide to wear some sweatpants and a hoodie.

I'm not feeling the best today.

I open the door and see the same guard from yesterday standing there. He turns to me and gives a curt nod towards the hallway.

While he lead me downstairs, I decided to break the silence.

"What's your name?" I ask the bulky looking guard.

"Giovanni." He says, still looking ahead of him.

"Can I call you Gio?" I ask.

"I'd prefer not miss Santiago." He replies.

"Why not Gio?" I ask, looking at him innocently.

He frowned at me but I didn't miss the slight upward tilt on the side of his lips.

"Only my friends call me that." He says as we're nearing the stairs.

"Can we be friends?" I ask with a hopeful look on my face. "I've never had a friend out of my home before..."

He frowns again and turns his head to  look at me.

"And why is that? If you don't mind me asking, Miss Santiago." He says and I just give him a small smile.

"My family never wanted me outside the mansion, which resulted in me not making any friends besides my brother's and one of the guards there." I say. "They always told me that they wanted to keep me safe."

A sudden sadness overcomes me, thinking about my family.

I miss them.

"We can be friends,Miss Santiago." he says, snapping me out of my thoughts.

I smile up at him. "Thank you, but please can you stop calling me Miss Santiago."I say.

"I don't think the boss-" he says but I cut him off.

"I don't care what the boss says." I say with as much firmness I could muster. "I'm asking you, not to call me that anymore."

He looks at me for a few seconds. We've reached downstairs and are standing in front of two dubble doors.

"Okay."He says and smiles at me.

"Thank you Gio." I reply and he opens the doors for me.

When the doors are fully opened, I'm met with a beautiful dining room. It's big and spacious. And filled with more guards and soldiers, I'm assuming, sitting at the table.

Everyone turns to me and I suddenly feel small. I hide behind Gio, not wanting to be seen by all these men.

Gio softly takes my hand and leads me to the other end of the table ,making me sit on the left side of the head.

Gio goes to sit down next me, and the mindless chatter continues among the men.

Suddenly the room goes silent and I look towards the door.

Elijah enters the room and walks toward the head of the table. He sits down and nods towards the men. The chatter then continues again.

"Goodmorning Angel." I hear Elijah say.
