i'm not really a baby person. i don't want to have and i don't think i've ever really wanted to have a child? back then, a lot of it was just pressure to have children i guess? anyways, the reason why i say this is because this is the reason why these are just headcannons. due to my "fuck em kids" mentality, i don't think i can do a one shot/drabble justice. hope you all still enjoy, thanks for the request!

also, i'm really sorry to my male and masc readers, i'm afraid due to the nature of the request, it can't be as gender neutral as i want :( i still didn't use fem!pronouns though if that's cool

♡ kenny could not keep his hands away from his daughter

♡ his fatherly instincts kicked in as soon as he heard her cries and the boy was always terrified of something bad happening to your baby

♡ she either always had to be in his or your arms or in his line of sight. if she wasn't, he would be complaining and worrying and being a nervous wreck

♡ "calm down, kenny. we're still at the hospital. nothing bad's gonna happen to her"

♡ "not on my watch" he mutters as he watches the nurse go to your room and place the baby back in his arms, making him sigh

♡ "she's so pretty, just like you. she's gonna be a heartbreaker one day "

♡ "i mean she is our kid, kenny"

♡ "good point"

♡ you were very surprised once you got to the hotel lobby and saw matt standing there, greeting you both with a hug and a kiss on the cheek

♡ "please don't touch her" but matt hasn't even reached out to the baby girl yet

♡ you gently scold him, then turn to matt. "he's a little protective"

♡ matt has both his arms up, palms to you. "hey, i get it. i'm a dad too. once we get to the house and i wash my hands though, i want to be the first one to hold her"

♡ "you got it, man"

♡ matt's in the driver seat, you're in the passenger, and kenny ends up sitting in the backseat paying close attention to the baby

♡ you couldn't help but smile at the sight you see when you look at the mirror in the car. kenny was such a natural dad and it made your heart swell

♡ "congrats you guys" matt smiles quietly, noticing the moment you were having and not wanting to deflate the intimacy. in many ways, he felt like he was intruding on your personal moment but it turns out, kenny asked him to be there

♡ he knew how tired you would be and didn't want you to be the one to drive you home or have to take care of the baby during the drive home. he wanted you to get some rest first

♡ it's not because he thinks you're gonna be unable to take good care of her, he has so much faith in you. it was simply because he doesn't want to put more responsibilities on your shoulders after you carried your baby for the last nine months and then proceeded to push her out of your body

♡ he knew you would be exhausted

♡ when you guys got home and you opened the door, you were once again surprised to see all of your friends there

♡ nick approached you first kissing your cheek. "so happy for you guys. you're gonna make a wonderful parent"

♡ "i know," you said quietly, then peeked around your shoulder. "he's already playing the role of protective dad like a pro"

♡ it made your husband's friend chuckle. "i'm not surprised. he was so excited for this"

♡ when kenny entered the room, he told everyone in a hushed voice to "please wash your hands before you hold her" and everyone scurried to the bathroom, but matt basically pushed everyone out of the way so he'll get there first.

♡ "i'm the parent's best friend! i get to hold the baby first!" it made you and kenny chuckle

♡ the whole day was just you and your friends aww-ing over the little human you helped create but soon enough, they all left one by one

♡ you were now all alone for the first time since being at the hospital

♡ you were sat in the sofa, your newborn baby girl in your arms as you gently sang to her

♡ kenny couldn't stop the tears forming at the corner of his eyes at the sight, kissing you and the baby

♡ "there's no one else i would have preferred to do this with"
