Chapter Thirty-Three
The Girl Who Knew Too Much

Tires burning up the pavement, Scott races his motocross bike to a stop in the school's parking lot. He yanks his helmet off just as Stiles's Jeep soars in beside him. "Where is she?" Stiles asked and before Scott could say something someone called out to them, "Over here!" Azalea called out and they spot Azalea and Allison coming out of the shadows with Lydia.

"It's the same thing- same thing as the pool. I got into the car heading somewhere totally different, and ended up here." Lydia said and Stiles's eyes widened. "You found a dead body?" He asked and Lydia shook her head, "Not yet..." She said making him squint at her. ""Not yet?" What do you mean, "not yet?" Lydia, you're supposed to call us after you find the dead body." He said making her scoff.

"Oh, no. I'm not doing that again. You find the dead body from now on." Lydia said as Azalea suddenly caught the scent of blood making her glance around. "How are we supposed to find the dead body? You're always the one finding the dead body!" Stiles said as Azalea tapped Scott's shoulder making him look at her and she nodded off at the distance.

"Guys...?" Scott said, catching their attention, "Found the dead body." Azalea said and they followed her line of sight to the Beacon Hills High School sign atop which Deputy Graeme lies. Garrote around her neck, blood streaming down the stone and brick.

Miss. Blake walks the aisle between desks as she lectures. "Idioms, analogies, metaphors and similes. All tools for the writer to tell their story." She explained, not paying attention to all the bored expressions on her students faces.

She pauses in between Lydia's and Azalea's desk, noticing Lydia's drawing a picture of a leafless tree in her notebook. "Lydia, I wasn't aware you had so many hidden talents." Miss. Blake complemented making Lydia hum. "You and every guy I've ever dated." Lydia said making Azalea smirk and hold back a laugh and Miss. Blake look taken back. "And that was an idiom by the way." She said and unimpressed, Lydia goes back to drawing.

"Idioms are something of a secret to the people who know the language or culture." She said walking back up to the front, glancing directly at Azalea as she said that making Azalea squint at her. "They're phrases that only make sense if you know key words. Saying "jump the gun" is meaningful only if you know about the starting gun in a race. Or a phrase like "seeing the whole board."

"Like chess." Stiles muttered making Miss. Blake look at him with a smile, "That's right, Stiles. Do you play?" She asked and he shook his head, "Uh, no. My father does."

"Now when does an idiom become a cliché?" As hands go up in the classroom, Scott leans over to whisper to Stiles and Azalea. "I think I can get to Ethan. I'm pretty sure I can make him talk." Scott said making Azalea look at him confused, "Why would you want to do that?" She asked.
