Chapter 4:

Harmony’s POV

“Louis, what do you want?”  I called to Louis from my spot in line.  He spun around to look at me, his eyebrows knotted together in concentration.

“Hmm, just a coffee.  I’ll pay, alright?”  He asked me inching up towards the woman waiting for our order.  When he turned to tell her what we wanted, she gasped.

“Y-you’re L-L-Louis Tomlinson!”  She squealed, her grey eyes wide with surprise.  Louis just smiled like he always did whenever this happened.  Within the week I’ve known Louis its happened multiple times. I’m not complaining, I get it he’s famous and it comes with the job but I don’t see the big deal.  Its just Louis…

He was rather normal.  Well besides his childlike disposition that mimicked mine almost completely.  But he was just like any other guys I’ve met.  I can say that fame hasn’t changed him.  He still smiled and got happy at small things.

“Yeah, Hi.”  Louis chuckled at the shocked girl in front of him.  She continued to gap at him.  Eventually, Louis cleared his throat and she snapped out of her trance.

“Oh, um, I’m sorry what can I get you guys?”  She asked, shaking her head slightly.  Her cheeks were flushed but she contained herself rather well.

“I’ll have a coffee and Harmony, what do you want?”  He turned to me and I could feel the girl glaring at me from behind the counter.  That’s another thing I’ve noticed; his fans tended to sneer at me.  Like I wasn’t welcome in their little One Direction world…  It is obviously hard to be accepted into.  At least that’s what I heard.  Liam told me about his girlfriend Danielle and how they broke up for a short time but got back together.  Most of the fans were pretty happy about it.

“Harmony?”  Louis’ voice made its way through my thoughts and I turned my stare away from the glaring girl.

“Oh, I’ll just have a water.”  I said trying not to look behind Louis.

“Are you sure?  You can get whatever.  I don’t mind.”  Louis urged on, his hand lightly touching my arm.  The slight touch sent a tingle through my arm.

“No that’s fine.  That’s all I want.”  I answered him sheepishly.

“Okay, and a water.”  He told the glaring girl, fishing through his wallet for some cash.

Her mood immediately shifted into one of delight and she told him the amount, giving the change back to him.  We waited for our drinks and I could tell that she kept sneaking looks up at Louis.  Is it fair to say that I felt a little jealous?  I know we have only known each other for a week but oh well…

“Here you go, have a good day.”  She said sweetly to Louis, handing him his drink and then she slid my water across the counter to me.  Scowling once again…

“Thank you and a piece of advice, if you keep scowling, your face will get stuck like that.”  Louis answered back mockingly sweet.  I couldn’t help but let a small giggle escape my lips.  He is so sassy… The pretty cashier’s mouth hung open in shock and I suddenly felt ten times better.

“I didn’t like the way she was looking at you.”  Louis whispered to me with his arm around my shoulder walking us out of the small coffee shop.  I merely smiled up at Louis’ childlike behavior.

“Thanks”  I let a small laugh out again and Louis laughed with me.  After our laughs had subsided we were surrounded in a comfortable silence and I couldn’t help but notice the dreariness of today’s weather.  My mood immediately shifted and I grimaced at the sky.  I felt the familiar loneliness and sadness creeping up on me…  The urge to go home and shut everyone out, draw the blinds, and just lay in bed became a welcoming idea.
