Paper laying blank on the table

Over it a hand with a pen to scribble

Emotions overflowing through ink

Mind with way too much to think

~¤~

Promptly the pen traces lines

Outlining claws of vile vines

Ever so tightly strangling heart

Marking the page with bleeding hurt

~¤~

Praying for the preying to end

Only hanging with might on a strand

Entrusting future to faithful hope

May some solace finally burn the rope

~¤~

Peacefully the pen keeps up the pace

Outshining lines leaving some trace

Enclosing overwhelming feels in poem

Memoirs of somber times in mayhem

~¤~

Philosophical prose of an airhead thinker

Once in a while like a rhythmic rhymer

Engaging gaze on life with a simple mind

Mischievously playing tunes of some kind

~¤~

Pouring out a bit of the emotional world

Omnipotent skies weathering hot to cold

Even overlooking the precious garden

My not so secret haven in self's Eden
