Body and Soul

Xia's eyes open, and she turned on her side to see her lover sound asleep next to her. She propped her arm up and laid there for a moment. She stared at him, and she thought about how things have been so crazy for her lately.

But, she wanted Jaebeom by her side through everything. Whatever she had with Chan was only a fling, and she's ready to move on from him.

Xia smiled and traced over Jaebeom's eyebrows with her finger and over his two birthmarks. She ran her finger across his lips. He's such a beautiful angel when he's sleeping. A thump in her stomach made her think about their relationship. Would they be able to talk about what went wrong before? Or would that create an unnecessary argument?

"You love touching my face," Jaebeom's raspy voice echoed against her, and he still had his eyes closed. She moved closer to him and kissed him on his lips.

"You're a beautiful man. How can I help myself?" Xia giggled, and Jaebeom's placed his arms on her waist to pull her closer to him.

"You surprised me last night."

"What do you mean?"

"I thought I had lost you forever, and then your friend came back from the military. I just didn't know what to expect," Jaebeom opened up.

"I know, but Minho is harmless. I would never date him. He's my best friend, that's all," Xia tried to clear things up.

"I know, but I shouldn't have let you go,"

"Well, it's okay because you have me now," Xia moved from beside him and on top of him. "Us against the world?" Xia smiled, and she watched Jaebeom mirror her action.

"Always," he replied.

"Let's get ready to meet with G. Soul," Xia leaned forward and kissed him.

Jaebeom lovingly smiled when he watched Xia return into the studio session with G. Soul. He didn't want her out of his sight because he silently feared she would leave him. Even though he originally ended things, but there's a piece of him that's not sure if she will stay with him.

He tried to block out those negative thoughts, and he pulled her into his lap. They both vibed to the music that G. Soul blasted through the speakers. He couldn't help but feel connected to the music.

"Okay, I love the beat," Jaebeom swayed a bit back and forth to the song. "These vocals are nice too," Jaebeom said. He couldn't deny the talent of G. Soul and how versatile he is. G. Soul has an untouchable vocal range that Jaebeom admires and respects him for his talent.

"Yeah, man, I wrote this song for you and Xia. I really admire what you two have," G. Soul looked over at them. Jaebeom couldn't help but be flattered over his kind words. Little did he know what they have experienced in the last couple of weeks.

"Aww, Gee.. thank you, baby," Xia's warm grin could light up the entire room. Jaebeom is always so happy to see his baby light up. It's been a minute since he's seen her this happy. Why is he so lucky to have a second chance with her? She's such a supportive queen. He could feel how happy she is for him.

"I am serious. I know it's a lot going on with Chemin being sick, but I hope that you all will reflect on how blessed you are. I know when things like this happen, we usually go into a panic, but I just want to remind you to support each other during these uncertain times," G. Soul said. Why were his words always so spot on? Jaebeom needed to hear those comforting words right now.

"Thanks, man. You don't know how much I needed to hear those words. It's been hard, and I almost lost her. I am just glad she came back to me," Jaebeom felt a bit raw, and these were sober thoughts. They usually drink when they come to his sessions, but Jaebeom wanted to take this opportunity seriously.

"Awww, Jae. Look at you being soft," Xia lovingly kissed Jaebeom's forehead and followed up with a sweet peck on his lips. Jaebeom held her close to him and felt her warmth against him.

"I am okay with admitting I fucked up. But, it's just such a blessing to have you in my life again. I will do everything I can to make you happy," Jaebeom kissed her on her cheek. He loved seeing her light up the way she is now.

"Oh my god.. did y'all rehearse this?" Xia laughed, and it triggered the guys to laugh at her too.

Jaebeom rubbed her leg and said, "Baby, no, I just felt the need to say that."

"I am so glad you two came today. So, this is the track I want you to help me with. I like the beat, but I feel like it's missing something," G.Soul expressed.

"Mmm.. let me grab my notepad. Maybe a few lyric changes," Jaebeom tried to get up, but Xia went to grab his bag. She handed him his favorite notebook and sat back down on his lap.

For the next couple of hours, they vibed to the song, added a few more things to the beat, and a few changed a couple of lyrics. Jaebeom felt so in his element and felt good actually to work on his purpose.

Chris sat down with Jinyoung, and all the nerves he had before disappeared. He wasn't going to stress that Xia isn't here and that they haven't talked in a few weeks. Sometimes somethings are just not meant to be.

But, he couldn't help but see the empty chair next to him and imagine Xia is there to support him. To give him a beautiful smile, he needed to see for support and loving touch on the shoulder. Those were things he needed right now, but he had to put his best foot forward to make sure he secures this opportunity.

"So, I have been following your music for quite some time. I had to see you perform live at Sugar & Spice," Jinyoung complimented him.

"Thank you so much, sir. I am glad you were there to see me live," Chris added.

"Of course, so how long have you been singing?"

"Over ten years, and I have been meeting with a vocal coach."

"Perfect. Well, I don't want to waste your time because I want to sign you to a developmental deal. Please contact a lawyer and go over the details before you sign," Jinyoung place the contract in front of him.

Chris' eyes widen when he saw the contract in front of him. He thought about all the sleepless nights, tears, money invested, and everything he's been through since moving to Korea. All of his sacrifices were paying off.

"Oh my god. Are you serious?" Chris touched the contract, and it's definitely real. He couldn't believe how easy this is happening for him.

"Yes, I am very serious. You are talented, and you would make a good addition to the company. I will give you a week to make a decision," Jinyoung stood up.

"Thank you so much, Mr. Park," Chris bowed and grabbed the contract. He placed it into his bag and left his office. He pulled out his phone to text his lawyer. He already had him on standby to let him know he's on the way to bring over the contract.

He then scrolled through his contacts and stopped at Xia's name. He wanted her to be the first person he actually tells. He paused for a moment. He decided to text her anyway.

Chan: I just want you to know that Park Jinyoung offered me a contract. I just wanted to thank you for your loving support that night. I couldn't have done it without you, and I would love to take you to dinner to show my appreciation.

Chris looked down at the message and sent it. If she decides not to go, it's okay, but he would like to see her.
