Cheap flights within China can found by using Shenzhen as a hub.  It is often 20-30% cheaper to fly from Shenzhen than it is to fly from Hong Kong to a Chinese city, this discount had been even more when the Hong Kong currency was stronger than the RMB.

Thanks to the contacts that Mr. Princeton had provided me, I was given an office at the university as a base for the duration of my stay. I actually had my own private office, a chair, Internet, nice big window; it was the royal treatment.

Mr. Mechanical, Mr. Princeton’s former mentee, had helped me get this space, he also found me accommodations, and I was able to sublet his friend June’s apartment. It was a welcome change from living on the roof and I was grateful.

All of this help came merely from Mr. Princeton’s reputation.  Mr. Princeton had asked Mr. Mechanical to help me anyway that he could and help me he did.

I didn’t waste this warm welcome, I was sure to arrive with gifts, and treat to dinner as often as I could.  This helped me build a reputation with Mr. Mechanical, and his friends Mr. History and June.  Now I am welcome in Ningbo anytime.
