When I came back I started speaking Cantonese better than ever before and Rollin's father was in the hotel and heard me ranting about how poor China was and how everything was a mess. Everything was just so crazy and I was speaking pure Cantonese because I had no one to speak English with for three days in total. Then, Rollin's father said "Danny, your Cantonese has improved significantly." I was taken aback because apparently, I was the worst out of the three people who went back. Afterwards, we went out to have dinner with Rollin's family and it was good. I shared with them my experiences on the mountain and they said not to do that anymore because the tradition had pretty much died out and I was one of the last people to actually go and do all that, trekking with all the roast pork and the roast ducks. So it's good to be part of that tradition.
