this is my new book, The Assistant, if you wanna go check it out!

|Grayson's POV|

"daddy, i don't want you to leave again." Elena whined as we laid in my bed. "i know princess but i have to. mama will be here." i moved a piece of hair from her face, to behind her ear.

"please don't." my heart broke hearing my little girl beg me to stay. i brought her close to me and laid her small body on my bare chest. "i'll be back later. i love you baby girl." i whispered. she dug her face into the crook of my neck and gripped onto me hard. "no dada." i sighed before kissing her forehead.

"i have to baby." tears started to fall from her eyes, making me feel like shit for not being able to do anything about it. "hey, don't cry. you're a big girl now right? maybe when i get home we can go get some ice cream with Chantel." i wiped her tears and she looked at me with her beautiful blue eyes.

"fine. but don't take to long." she ordered. i chuckled and nodded my head. "i love you dada." i awed and kissed her cheek. "i love you more princess." she smiled before letting me go to go get ready for work.

i got out of bed, walking to the other side where Chantel was still sleeping peacefully. i smiled at how beautiful she looked a left a small kiss on her forehead before going into the bathroom.

"Mr. Dolan. you're new assistant is here." Mrs. Susan, our front desk lady informed me. i nodded my head and walked up to my office.

my brother, Ethan, and i own Dolan Enterprises, the company our father left for us after he passed. my assistant, Sterling, quit due to her mother falling ill and she needed to be there for her. i completely understood, but was also left without an assistant.

finally, making it to the top floor of the 40 story building, i walked to my office and unlocked it.

i expected an older lady, at least 50, to be standing there, but there was a gorgeous woman, probable early 20's. long silky brown hair, big beautiful dough eyes, curves in all the right places, and a big smile. "hi, i'm Grace Landry. i'm assuming your Mr. Dolan?" her voice was gentle and sweet, making me fall into a trance.

what am i talking about!? i'm married to Chantel.

"uh, yeah yeah. i'm Mr. Dolan. follow me and i'll show you your office." she nodded her head and i lead her to the smaller office right beside mine. one wall was completely glass, giving her the perfect view of the city, she has a desk with a computer and a to-do list for this morning.

my office was the same, except mines bigger and has some of Elena's toys stacked in the corner. "thank you. would you like for me to do these now?" she asked as she looked at the note pad.

"yes please. i like my coffee just black, and my brother Ethan's assistant will help you out if you have any questions." i said. she nodded her head and smiled. "i'll get to it." i watched as she sat her purse down and walked out, passing by me i could smell her vanilla scent.

i shook off the thoughts, walking back to my office. i sat down at my desk and look at the picture of Elena sitting in a frame. i couldn't help but smile at my goofy princess.

i worked on some paperwork for a few minutes before the door opened and Grace walked in with a coffee in her hands. "thank you." i said without looking at her, continuing to look at the paper. "you're welcome. i'll get to the rest of the things." she said before walking back out.

i couldn't help but let my mind drift back to her. something felt different about her. in a good way, but i have Chantel. and she's all i need.
