19-year-old Nora Scott lived with her father, and little sister, Darci Scott, in Arcadia. Nora was looking into art collages to attend to while her sister was in high school and her father was the chief police detective. Things have been really weird in Arcadia lately; as people and pets have gone missing. The girls' father had warned them to not go too far from home, but today, Nora couldn't help it. She packed her watercolor paints, brushes, and 4 canvases into a large backpack and started biking through the forest. The sunset was gorgeous and she knew exactly were to paint it from. She got to the top of a cliff and sighed at the scene, it was perfect. She set up her paints and canvases on a rock and got to work.

Deep in the forest Nora just went through, a big black GumGum troll named Bular was trying to heal himself. The Trollhunter had thought he killed him when he sank into the rushing waters of the canal. But no, Bular, son of Gunmar the Black, was very much alive and very much wounded. As the young and temperamental troll tried to patch himself up, a faint smell entered his nose.

Human, and judging by the smell, a rather delectable one too. Bular hadn't eaten anything in days and was starving. He smirked and followed the smell. It led him to a cliff covered in sunlight, but near the edge of the cliff, sat his soon-to-be prize. A young, dark-skinned human girl with the blackest hair he'd ever seen on a human. He saw her glance at the sky then turn back to the white thing in front of her, putting colors that ran like water onto it. Well, Bular couldn't risk catching the human now, he'd turn completely into stone. So, staying hidden and out of the fading sunlight, he watched her paint and waited for the right moment to strike. He had to admit to himself, as far as appearances come for humans, this one was rather nice to look at. Every other human he'd seen and devoured were not as pleasing to observe as this one, and none smelled as delicious.

"Oh, I'm going to enjoy you," he thought, smirking darkly to himself.

About an hour later, Nora had finished her painting. She smiled proudly at the watercolor sunset she'd managed to capture on canvas.

"Now that's a painting!" she grinned to herself. She saw the sun was halfway set and stars were starting to appear. She sighed, wishing she could paint another picture but she didn't have time. So she packed her paints and supplies and started towards her bike. Little did she know, the GumGum prince was watching her the entire time and slowly began to follow her. Nora got her bike and started towards home as the sun vanished completely. Bular smirked and chased after her. Nora quickly heard thundering footsteps and began to pedal faster. Bular smelled her fear, and it made him hungrier and more eager for the thrill of the hunt. He ran right beside Nora and swiped at her bike as she looked at him, terror in her dark eyes. Nora screamed as she went flying through the air and crashed into a tree, earning a large cut on her head.  She quickly rose to her feet, but immediately got light-headed. Everything became blurry and painful and Bular chuckled darkly. He loved this; seeing his prey stunned and confused after a good chase. Nora looked in the direction of the chuckle and froze, see the massive black troll three times her size.
