Sooner or Later...You Won't Resist Me

Previously: "I'm sorry. You obviously have a lot going on so let me know when you've straightened out everything, and until then I'll be waiting," with that, T. J. walked out of the café. "If you don't like me then why not just say so, instead of letting me find out the hard way. So as of today, we are not friends, this little 'game' of ours is officially over, and don't call me again. You know what, don't even come over here again," I told him as I gestured for him to leave. "So, this is how you want to end things between us? Being mad at me for something that you weren't even suppose to find out about?" he asked. "I'm not mad Cory...I'm disappointed," I corrected him. The anger in his eyes flashed to hurt as my word escaped. I walked upstairs and jumped into my bed, not bothering to change clothes as I quickly fell asleep and awaited tomorrow...

Chapter 31

"Look this way for me!" the photographer, Ralph, instructed nicely as he took pictures of me for the hundredth time today, his French accent strong. I'd already taken a few of the pictures for Aunt Lashay's four page spread, and it won't be soon until I take the one that's going on the cover. To my surprise, I haven't really been nervous. I'm more bored if anything.

For some reason I'm just not getting into it, like I'm not in the 'modeling' mood I guess...whatever that means. "Okay Isyss honey, give me that sexy smoldering look you have!" Ralph instructed. I gave a confused look instead. Sexy smoldering? What the hell is that? "No, no, that's not it," he told me. I looked at my aunt for help.

She gave me two thumbs up, though I could tell it was sarcastic. I sighed, and scratched my forehead. "Nope, that's not it either," he told me. I sighed in frustration.

"Can I take a break?" I asked kindly. I've been posing and taking pictures for nearly three hours straight, Isyss needs some time to relax. And yes, I just referred to myself in third person...sue me.

"Sure thing," he agreed. I have to admit, I liked this photographer. He's kind and patient with me, but he's also honest. He's motto is "Truth Hurts". I silently thanked him and headed over to my aunt and Courtney.

Yes Courtney. She came over my house this morning when I was about to leave, so I just invited her to tag along."Be honest," I tell them as soon as I walked over to them, grabbing a bottled water on my way.

They both looked at each other, seeing who was going to go first. "You weren't...horrible," Courtney told me encouragingly. I looked at Aunt Lashay.

"You should just loosen up more, you know, realx. You seem tense and stressed, like you have a lot on your mind," she observed. Gawd lee, is it that obvious? Ever since I woke up this morning, I've been feeling from bad to worst.

All the events that happened yesterday came flushing through my mind like a waterfall of memories. I shook my head in attempt to make them go away...so such luck...stupid memories. "Uh, no, I'm fine. I just um...just need a break is all; I'll be better," I assured her.

"Okay, well I'm gonna go get your other wardrobes together," Aunt Lashay enlightened me before walking off.

Before I could open my mouth, Courtney spoke. "I'm sorry," she blurted out.

"It's okay, Courtney. I understand that people tell you things and expect you not to tell anyone, just like I wouldn't want you to tell my secrets," I explained. She nodded her head.

"I'm sorry for accusing you of trying to play my brother. It's just...he's just misguided and, well, stupid," she laughed. I laughed along.

"That's an understatement," I laughed with her.
