Emma drove herself, Killian and Hope, to the sheriff station after dropping off Henry at Regina's office. Killian noticed something was wrong with his wife, she was not herself this morning and has a feeling why. "Emma..." He held his wife's hand. "What is wrong? I know something is on your mind.""It is nothing." "Mommy." Emma gets Hope from her carseat avoiding answering her husband."Hopey, you are going to be my little sheriff today." Hope babbles. Emma carried Hope in, Lily and Mulan were talking. "Emma, Gary is the only lost boy left, there is a situation.""What is it?""Gary's parents abandoned him.""They are not his parents. They are his foster parents, we helped lost boys fund foster parents when they helped us find Henry. I will talk to him knowing from experience being abandoned more than once." She kisses Hope on the head and hands her to Killian. Emma goes into Gary's cell, he was crying and facing the wall. "Hi, Gary." "Leave me alone..." "I remember you Gary from Neverland when I was there to rescue Henry, my son." He did not respond. "You were the one who told me about Peter Pan was...his thinking tree." Gary turned around and faced Emma. "You helped me to get my son back. You were the only lost boy who helped us. I promised you to take you away from Neverland which I did. What happened after I brought you to Storybrooke?" "The foster family that Regina put me in was bad...I was neglected and abused...which is why I turned my anger on Henry even though Snow White was telling us how much she hates him...I have bruises.""You could have come to me so I can take out of that awful home. I was in so many awful homes, I had no one to turn to for help or to get out of awful foster homes. I was a lost girl just like you. I am going to help you to get you a loving home. Can you please tell me who your foster parents?""Horace and his wife..."Emma was mad. "His son bullied Henry.""He also bullied me...when you arrested him, you took him away. Then his wife continued to abuse me..." Gary began to cry. Emma hugs him. "You are not going to be in that home ever again. You need a safer home with parents who love you." Emma lets Gary out of the cell and took pictures of his bruises of the abused her endured in the foster home. Emma hates seeing the proof the same as she had as a child. She guides him into her office finding Killian playing with Hope. "Killian?" Emma was in her office starting to search for foster homes for Gary. Lily brought Horace's wife in. Emma was fuming seeing the wife of the man causing her miscarriage with her third child and almost killing herself and her children on purpose. She went charging at her."Emma..." Killian knew his wife was not herself and seeing this villain was making her madder. "I am going to yell at her for making Gary going through hell."Killian gets hold of his wife. "Emma. I am furious at Horace's wife as much as you are but you need to breathe before you interrogate her, love. Before you came into the station today, I knew something was on your mind.""I am fine." Emma walks away from Killian."I know it has been a year today..." Emma stops walking knowing and turns to her husband. "I know you are in a lot of pain, Emma.""I need to help Gary." Emma heads to the interrogation room knowing her husband was right but did not want to admit he was then, she wanted to focus on the case. Regina went to Killian. "What is wrong with Emma?"Killian spoke softly, "It has been a year since...her first...m-miscarriage."Regina closed her eyes. "A year already? Killian, I can find Gary a better foster home if Emma needs a break after she interrogates Horace's wife. If I cannot find a foster home, he can stay at my house as a temporary placement.""That will be great. Now, I have to make sure my wife does not harm Horace's wife." They both rush to the interrogation room. Emma entered the room. "Well, isn't the savior." "You know me?""Yes, everyone knows the savior ." She laughed. "I know of your family because your son bullied my son Henry." She faces the evil lady. "Your husband almost rammed me and my children in our car trying to kill us with his truck.""My husband is in prison because of you."Emma pushed this mean woman against the wall with all her might. "It was Zelena's fault, not mine. Your son does the exact same thing to my son. Your whole family is mean and cruel who loves hurting people. You abused your foster son so bad he is covered with bruises. That is awful! You are going to prison and never see Horace Sr. and Horace Jr. ever again. Your whole family causes pain." She squeezed her throat. Killian rushes in right behind him was Regina."Emma, let her go. She is going to prison where she belongs. Swan.." Emma let her go. Horace's wife hysterically laughs. Emma punches the lady square in the haw to shut her up and leaves the room. He handcuffs her with Regina's magic handcuffs. Killian kneels to the woman."You and your family are evil, lass. Now you are going to get the same treatment as them." He pushes her against the wall. Emma finds Mulan. "Mulan book her in prison and make sure she does not have her family in the same prison.""Yes, Emma. She won't be in the same prison as her husband. I will make sure of it.""Thank you, Mulan." Mulan leads her out of the room. Killian quickly goes to find his wife, the window was closed by the blinds of her office. He enters his wife's office who was calling foster parents for Gary, none won't take him in because they know that he hurt Henry. Emma was frustrated. "How can we find a home for him if no one let him in?!" She threw papers all over her office. "Emma, you need a break." He rubs his wife's back which she shrugged off."No! I have to find him a home." She shows him the pictures of the bruises. "All I could think about is these pictures...of his abuse in that horrible home. All the abuse he has gone through over the years, I could have helped him even during curses to get him out of that home...I failed him..." She showed him more photos, "Mulan took these when she searched the home. The home was dirty and filthy. His room was in the attic. She brought his stuff from Horace's home. I cannot believe that Horace's family has done this hurting our family and Gary." Emma kicked her desk in anger. "I failed him, Killian." "Emma, listen to me you did not fail him. You are helping him right now.""No, I know what it was like being stuck in an awful home and have no way out of that foster home. I waited and begged for help no one believed me...I want to help him when he needed me the most." She began to cry. Killian hugged his wife and kisses her on the head and she gripped him tight. "You are helping him, Emma, right now. You got him to talk and out of that bloody awful house for good. He is safe now. I see it the passionate and care in your eyes right now wanting to get him everything he should have in that home which did not happen. You are helping him, now, Swan. You are my brave strong caring wife doing everything for those in need especially lost boys and anyone in town in danger. " She cried into him as he rubbed her back. "You did not fail him, love. He is out of that house. You are going to find him a home where he will be safe and loved." Emma stopped crying. "I have to find him a home." She continued her search.Regina knocks on the door. "Emma..." Emma wiped her tears away. "Yes? Come in, Regina." Regina enters the office. "I can take Gary in at my house. We do have a spare room. I spoke to Robin about it, he is happy to help out a former lost boy."Emma was surprised. "Really Regina?""Yes, Robin is making his room already for him.""That is great, Regina. No one I called so far, would even let me finish since they know of him bullying Henry." She showed Regina the pictures. "This is what Horace and his wife did to him. Neglecting him abusing him and not a clean home. He is going to need to feel safe and protected."Regina was surprised and felt bad since she placed him in that home in the first place. "Oh my gosh. I can make sure he can feel safe. He knows that I have magic...""I do not know about this...He only opened up to me. He has been through hell already.""Emma, I have two children at home younger than him. I know that Robin and he will get along. He needs a normal family, he also does not know about Zelena and Rowand which will be awkward to tell him. I want to do this, to foster Gary.""This is going to be temporary, Lily is finding out from Maleficent if his parents are back in the Enchanted Forest, alive or not.""If his parents are alive, I will give him back to his family.""Thank you for doing this Regina.""You are welcome, Emma.""Have you told Henry about this?""Not yet.""We have no phone calls from Henry, so I think Henry and Gary are getting along.""Which is a good sign.""Yes." Snow White enters the sheriff's station marches straight to Regina. "Regina!!" "Snow White!!" Snow White faces her stepmother. "Why did you have me transferred to middle school!!""Because you were telling your students about your hate of Henry making them bully him to the point that he is the laughing stock of the entire school!!""He is not in school anymore!!""Yes, all because of you!! It was either transferring you or firing you." Snow White stopped talking. Emma was happy that Regina was on her side about their son and about her mother. "You and your son are causing your family and citizens of Storybrooke so much pain, Snow White. You are becoming more like the evil side of me.""No, I am not.""Yes, you are Mary-Margaret."Snow White turns to her daughter. "Emma, I am not evil.""You are acting like you are evil. What kind of mother does that and shows it to her son and encourages his bad behavior?! That is not a parent.""How should you know?""I am a much better parent than you are since I did not have any as a child. You had a chance to be my parent but you chose not to raise me! I know what it is like to have brutal foster parents who abuse foster children and used them for money. I am nothing like those people who abused me and neglected me. I learned not to be nothing like them which is why I give my children love them, accept them for who they are and not in denial of their issues like you do!" Stop spreading our hate towards my son to your students, if not I am going to put you in prison myself." Emma left the station."Killian, I will update Lily and Mulan.""Thanks, Regina." Killian finds his wife at their special spot crying. Killian sat next to his wife and hugged her who cried into him, she just knew it was him. "Emma, I am right here. I am not going anywhere. I know today is a rough day for you. You got a safe home for Gary, Regina will take good care of him until we find out about his family. You did a great as a sheriff.""I feel better that Gary is going to a home with someone that we know. Seeing his bruises gave me flashbacks in the foster system." Killian gave the edge of his leather jacket to wipe her tears. "He opened up to you, Emma. He trusts you.""I was thinking about taking him in but with Henry, I think it will be too much for him. Knowing that Regina was taking him in, I feel less stressed about his new temporary placement. I know he will get along with Robin, Roland, and Rowand." Emma cried more."Emma..." "You were right about before..." She hugs him tight. "I love you, Emma.""I cannot stop thinking about the miscarriage...and the horrible dilation and cutterage procedure...I can still remember the surgery and our tiny tiny baby...Killian...I remember it all." Killian hugged his wife crying, he remembered the whole process since he was at his swan's side holding her hand and comforting her. "I remembered it too, love. We both do." He helped her in recovery. Luckily for Emma's second miscarriage, the baby was taken out after the car accident. Not going through that awful procedure for the second time. "When you saw Horace's wife, it gave you flashbacks on the accident...""He killed our baby, our fourth baby, the first mis- miscarriage...was our third. Both times, I did not know I was pregnant both times...""Emma, it is not your fault. Not your fault..." Emma cried more. "You are an amazing mother to Henry and Hope, love. You protect them, love them, keeping the town safe for them to live in, and you are always there for them when they need you. You are my amazing wife, Emma. I love all of you. I hated seeing you in that pain that I felt bloody awful that I caused you." "Killian, it could have been worse...I was only 2 weeks along..." She sighs. "Women have miscarriages much further along like closer to their due dates. That pain...that awful pain..." She cried more. Killian hugs her tight. "I am right, Emma. I am not going anywhere. I am staying here right next to you." He kisses her on her blonde head. He slowly rocks his swan, he hates seeing her so upset and hurt. Henry, Hope, and Gary went to the ice cream shop, they got to know each other and have much in common with comic books. Hope was walking around the ice cream shop. He gets his sister. "Hopey, you want chocolate?" Hope babbles. "I will get your chocolate. Gary, Hope is allergic to all nuts and peanuts.""I won't get peanuts or any nuts.""Dopey, two chocolate ice creams, one in a cup and one in a cone. Gary?""I will have strawberry ice cream in a cone." "Dopey, please clean the spoons, Hope has a severe nut allergy especially to peanuts." Dopey nods his head and gives them their orders after he cleans the spoons. Henry paid for their ice cream. They sat at a table, Henry spoonfed Hope her ice cream. "You want more?" He lets Hope eat from his cone. Henry smiles. "Next time, I will order two scoops so you can share it with me." Hope holds the ice cream. Gary laughs. Henry takes a picture on his iPhone to show his parents."Little sis, did you steal my ice cream?""No." She puts ice cream on Henry's mouth. "Yummy." He lets his sister eat the ice cream. "Do you like video games?""What are video games?""They are games you can play on controllers that are connected to a system like an Xbox and the game is on the television screen. You control the characters that you choose like Batman and Spiderman. Want to play it at my house?""Sure." After they finished eating ice cream, Henry cleaned Hope up and they walked home. While Hope napped, Henry taught Gary how to play video games and about his family tree. Gary got the hang of playing video games very quickly. Henry paused the game when he heard his sister awake in the baby monitor and went upstairs to Hope's room. She was awake and standing up in her crib. "Henwy.""Hi, Hopey." He takes Hope out of her crib. Hope babbles. He changes Hope's diaper and takes her downstairs. While Hope was playing with blocks, Henry and Gary were playing video games. Hope was walking around tripped on her toys and fell onto the ground and began to nonstop crying. Henry stopped the game and held his sister. He saw blood on her head and used his shirt to stop the bleeding. "Hopey." He kisses Hope on the head. "Gary call my Mom." He gives Gary his iPhone. "Hope, you are going to be okay. I am right here."Emma and Killian were still hugging at their special spot. Emma gets a phone call from Henry. "Henry...Gary...""Hope fell and she is bleeding. We are at your house.""We are on the way home." She ended her phone call. "Hope is hurt." They ran home. They can hear their daughter wailing and found Henry holding Hope. "Henry, Hope." She scoops Hope into her arms with Henry's sleeve covering Hope's cut."Mommy...""Hopey, Mommy is here." She kisses Hope on the head. "Mom, Hope tripped on her toys." "Killian, can you get me a towel?""Aye, I am on it, swan.""Henry, let me see Hope's forehead." Hope was crying. "I know, baby, you are in pain. Mommy is going to make you feel better." Killian returns to clean up Hope's cut which was deep. "Killian, call Allison. Hope needs stitches." Henry presses the towel against Hope's cut."Mommy." "Hope, you are with Mommy, baby girl." "Mom, Hope tripped over her toy...""She tripped over her toy ship, Emma." Killian returns to the living room. "Emma, Allison is coming over." He holds Hope's hand. "Little love, you are going to be alright, little pirate.""Dada." He kisses Hope on the cheek."Dada is here, Hope." "Mommy.""You are staying with your Mommy, little pirate princess. I am going to stay with you and Mommy." They sat on the couch, Hope just wanted her Mommy."Gary, I found you foster home.""Really?""Yes, your new foster home is going to be with Regina and Robin.""Mom? "Looks like Henry made a new friend.""Yes, he was one of his bullies.""Really?""Yes, now we found out why." Hope cries more. Allison examines Hope's cut."You got a big boo-boo, Hope. I will fix it, Hope." Allison gets her tools out. "Emma, she definitely needs stitches. You can have Hope can sit on your lap. She needs to stay still." Emma puts Hope on her lap, Hope fusses. "Hope, you are staying with me." Killian gives Hope his hook."Dada." "You are being a brave little pirate, Hope. I am right here. You have to stay still for Auntie Allison to fix your cut. Dada is right here, you can hold onto my hook." He kisses Hope on the head. Allison cleaned Hope's cut first and gave Hope stitches, Hope was crying and screaming.Emma hates seeing Hope in pain and crying in pain. "Hopey, you are almost done, baby girl."Killian was helping Emma keeping Hope staying still. "Little love. You are almost done, Hope. I know you are in pain." Hope cried louder. Henry hates hearing his sister in pain. "Gary, I will be right back." Henry leaves the house. Back downstairs, Allison finishes up Hope's stitches. "Hope, I am done. You were such a good girl. My favorite little patient. " Emma hugged her daughter. "Hope, you did a great job.""Mommy.""We can snuggle sweetie." She gave Hope kisses on her head. "Hope, you did a great job, for your Auntie Allison." He kisses Hope on the head. "Hope, I got you something for being such a brave little girl." Allison takes out a small Barney doll dressed up as a pirate. "Hope, look what Auntie Allison has for you. Barney." Hope stopped crying, Auntie Allison gave Hope her new toy. "Wawa."Allison smiles. "Yes, little niece, a pirate Barney just for you." Hope hugs her pirate Barney. "I am glad you like it.""Dada...wawa..." Hope shows her Daddy her new Barney doll. "Aye, your new Barney is a pirate." Hope babbles. "You want to put it in your treasure chest in the Jolly Roger when we go sailing?" "Yes!""Aye, you can bring your pirate Barney on our next pirate adventure." He gave Hope kisses on her cheek. "Allison, we have a treasure chest in our captain quarters, it is for Hope. We put toys in her treasure chest. Whenever we sail Hope has her toys with her.""It was Killian's idea. He wanted Hope to have her toys on our second home so Hope will always have toys to play with which I love. Hopey, say thank you to Auntie Allison for your new Barney doll.""You...Auntie.""You are welcome home." Hope reaches out to Allison. Allison holds Hope and hugs her.Gary comes down. "Emma, how is Hope?""She got stitches on her head but Allison gave her a gift.""Auntie." Allison gave Hope kisses and tickles her on her belly."Where is Henry?""He went out. I do not know where to. He did look upset." Emma was worried.Henry went into town to buy Hope a present, he felt sorry Hope had to go through that pain and wanted to make his sister feel better. He found a gift for his sister to cheer her up. As he was walking out of the store, he spotted his other Mom. "Hi, Mom.""Hi, Henry. Are you okay?""I am fine...""Henry.."Henry hugs his Mom. "It is my fault of Hope getting hurt..." "Henry...""Gary and I were playing video games. I was not watching her when she fell down." Regina sees blood on his shirt. "I know you were taking good care of her, I see blood on your shirt.""As soon as she fell down, I went to her and checked on her. I covered her cut with my shirt to stop the bleeding. I hate hearing Hope screaming and crying when she was getting her stitches. Mom and Dad are going to be so mad at me.""Henry, Emma and Killian are not going to be mad at you.""Yes, they are." "Are you mad at me for fostering Gary?""No, I think it is a great idea. I know you will give him a better home than Horace's family.
