Little Hero

The weekend ended, Henry was back in his college in Boston. Emma was up early, she wanted to take Hope to get her nails done today, their one on one time. She breastfeeds her daughter who was looking up at her. "You have my eyes, rainbow duckling. Yes, you do." She kisses her daughter on the head. She plays with her daughter until Leia was getting sleepy and puts her down for her morning nap. "Sweet dreams, baby girl."She places the baby monitor by her sleeping husband and goes to Hope's room. "Hope, do you want to get your nails done?"
"Yes! Mommy and Hope time!" She hugs her Mommy's legs, Emma was smiling. They both got ready. Emma dressed into maternity jeans and a gray tee shirt. Hope chose to wear a flower pattern dress. She braids Hope into two pigtails in her hair.
Hope goes to her Daddy who was fast asleep and kisses him on the cheek. "Luv you Dada." Emma was in awe. They walked out of the house. Hope held her Mommy's hand. "Are you ready to get your nails done?"
"Yes!" They began walking to town.
Emma held Hope's hand as they walked to the Three Bears Nail Salon. "Hi, two manicure and pedicures." Hope held Emma letting her chose her nail polish color which was yellow. "Yellow."
"That is a good fall color, Hope."
"Buttercup, Mommy."
"Yes, that is buttercup color, sweetie." Emma chose red her favorite color.
They went to the massage chairs and the workers began washing their feet. Hope was giggling. "Does it tickle?"
"Yes!" Throughout the whole time, Emma and Hope were talking. She loves hearing her daughter talk. Emma was happy she get to have one on one time with her oldest daughter and get to have relaxed time at the nail salon.
A few weeks later, Hope and Melody were playing with blocks. Melody went to get more blocks, two boys blocked her. "Go away, little pwincess! Pway with dolls, little pwincess..." Tommy grabbed the toy from Melody's hands. Melody began crying.
Hope goes in front of her best friend being bullied. "Leaf Mel-Mel alone." One of the boys pushed Hope against the bins, she was knocked down, she was bleeding in the back of her head, Hope was wailing. "I want my Mommy!!" Ashley rushes to Hope. "Want Mommy! Want Mommy!!" She saw blood and pressed a towel to Hope's head and calls Emma.
Emma was snuggling on the couch with Leia. "Hi, Ashley." She hears her daughter crying.
"Emma, Hope got hurt."
"I am on my way." Emma ends the phone conversation and calls her husband who was driving on patrol. "Killian!"
Killian was startled. "Emma!"
"Ashley called, Hope is hurt.
"I am coming too. I am going to meet you there." They ended their phone conversation. Killian calls Charming but he did not pick up, he left a voicemail. "Charming, I need you to work. I just finished my patrol. I know I just go back from maternity relief, Hope is hurt."
Emma grabs the diaper bag rushes out of the house puts Leia in her car seat in the yellow bug. "We are going to pick up your big sister from school." Emma drove to the preschool, fast. As she drove fast, her lack of sleep turned into adrenaline, her daughter was hurt.
Killian arrives before his swan and waited for his two loves to arrive. He hug his swan. "Emma, Hope is going to be okay."
"Our daughter is hurt. I heard her crying in the background." He takes his littlest pirate out of her carseat. "From the sounds of Hope's crying in the background of the phone call, she is hurt."
"Aye, love. I am going in with you." He looks down at his littlest pirate. "Your Mommy is in mama-bear mode."
Emma rushes in as Killian holds Leia and follows her in. She sees Hope wailing covered with blood and a boy in time out corner. "Hope."
"Mommy!"
Emma pressed the towel to Hope's head. "Mommy is here, sweetie." She hugs her daughter.
"Boo-boo hurts Mommy."
"You are going to be okay." She looks at the back of her daughter's head, a lot of blood.
Killian sees Melody was crying. "Little ocean princess, why are you crying?"
"Killy, Hope hurt."
He faces his daughter's best friend. "Hope is going to be okay, Melody." Leia coos.
"Hi, Leia. Baby!" She looks at Leia and smiles.
"When Hope is feeling better, you can come over to play with Hope and Leia."
"Yay!" Melody smiles.
"Ashley, what happened to our daughter?"
"I saw Tommy pushed Hope into the toy bins." Leia fusses. "I can hold her." Ashley holds Leia.
"Protect Mel-Mel, Mommy, Dada. Mean Tommy mean to her."
"Killy, Tommy was mean to me. Hope protected me."
Emma looks down at her daughter. "You were protecting your best friend?"
"Yes. He was mean. He pushed me." She pointed a boy with brunette hair sitting in a corner.
Killian goes to the toddler and lifted him up. "What have you done to my daughter!!"
Emma sees her husband holding up a little boy, she thinks he might hurt him."Killian set that boy down!"
Killian looks at his wife. "Emma! He hurt our daughter!!"
"Yes but you do not need to hurt him! Put the boy down. We need to get Hope to the emergency room. She needs stitches." Emma holds Hope pressuring the cut.
Killian puts the boy down, "If you ever touch my daughter again, you will get my hook in your neck. Understand?" The boy nods. "Good." Killian goes to Ashley and gets Leia. "Dada isnot mad at you only at the mean boy who hurt your sister."
"Killian, please let me know what happened with Hope?"
"Yes, I will." The family left.
Emma sets Hope in her car seat as Killian puts Leia in her car seat. She kept the pressure on Hope's head as Killian drove his family to the hospital. "It hurts Mommy."
"Auntie Allison is going to fix your boo-boo." Emma carried Hope inside the hospital to the children's section and signed her in. Emma sat on the bed with her daughter.
"Scawed, Mommy."
"Auntie will help with your big boo-boo." She kisses Hope on the head and hugs her daughter who was afraid. "You are going to be okay, sweetie."
"Mommy stay."
"I am staying here with you, Hope."
Allison enters the room, "Hi, Emma. Hi, Hope."
"Auntie Allison, boo-boo at pweschool."
"I am going to see your boo-boo, Hope." She puts gloves on as Emma positioned Hope on her lap facing her. She examined Hope's head, where the cut was deep. "Emma, she needs stitches."
"I had a feeling she would need stitches."
"No, do not want stitches." Hope began crying.
Emma hugs her daughter. "They will help your boo-boo feel better, sweetie." Killian entered the room with sleeping Leia in her carrier. "Killian, she needs stitches."
Killian faces his daughter who was afraid. "Hope, did I ever tell you how many times I got stitches?"
"No." Hope faces her Daddy.
"Well, Dada got many stitches after I had a fight with a bad pirate, or lost boy. I got many deep cuts like the one in your head. Stitches hurt but it is part of your pirate side."
"Piwate side?"
Killian smiles at his daughter's excitment."Yes, little love. You are going to be okay, Hope after getting your stitches." Hope smiles. Emma was smiling and her husband cheered Hope up.
A nurse comes in with the tools Allison needed. "Hope, you just need to look at Mommy while Auntie Allison gives you stitches."
"Yes, Mommy." She hugs her Mommy tight.
Emma knew Hope was afraid, which reminded her as a child, in the foster system where she had no one to turn to when she was injured. "You are going to be with me, the whole time, Hope."
Leia began crying. "Emma, I will take Leia into the waiting room."
"Dada." She reaches out to him.
Killin hugs his little pirate princess. "Everything is going to be okay, little love. I will be right back, Hope. You are going to be okay. Mommy is staying with you." He kisses Hope on the cheek and goes out to the waiting room. He bottle-fed Leia. "There, there, Leia. Your sister is going to be okay. Mommy is with her. I am with you." Leia looks up at her Daddy, her mother's eyes. After he bottle-fed Leia, he texts Henry what was going on.
In the emergency room, Hope was wailing, gripping onto her Mommy as her Aunt Allison was giving her stitches in the back of her head. "It is almost over, baby girl." Emma had Hope's tears on her shirt, she did not care, her daughter was in pain and terrified of her stitches. "Hush Now, Don't be scared, Through this tide of darkness. Shadows may march, Thunders may roar,But peace will soon prevail. Through our land, This sacred land, Nightmares sprite confusion, But stand your ground, Until you've found, The strength to light your way." Hope was crying less. She continued to sing until Allison was finished.
"Hope, you are all done, little niece. You have done such a good job."
Hope faces her Aunt Allison. "I did?"
Allison smiles at her little niece. "Yes, you did. You get a popsicle!"
"Yay!"
"Emma, I will be right back with her popsicle." Allison leaves the room and finds Killian waiting in the hallway. "Killian, Hope is alright. She has stitches."
"Aye, how long will she be in stitches?"
"In two weeks. You can go to your wife and daughter." Leia coos. "Hi, baby niece. Auntie made Hope feel better." Leia coos. "Killian, I can take her with me. I am getting Hope a popsicle."
"Aye, yes you can." He laid Leia in Allison's arms.
"Leia, Auntie is going to give you a tour of where I work."Allison gives Leia a tour of the hospital. She takes Hope into the doctor's lounge. "This is where all the doctors and nurses eat their lunch. Can you keep a secret?" Leia moved her arms. "I have a stash of popsicles hidden in here." She kisses Leia on the head and gets a popsicle for her other goddaughter.
Killian enters the room. "Little love."
"Dada!"
Killian scooped Hope into his arms. "I heard from Auntie Allison you did a great job!"
"Yes, I did. Boo-boo still hurts."
"Your boo-boo will heal, little pirate princess."
"Killian, where is our other pirate princess?"
"She is with Allison getting Hope a popsicle."
"Dada, I am a pirate now?"
"You've always been a pirate, Hope. This makes you more of a piwate." Hope smiles.
Ariel and Melody arrive. "Hope!"
"Mel-Mel!"
Melody climbs onto the bed and hugs Hope. "Are you okay?"
"Auntie Allison gave me stitches on my boo-boo."
"Emma, Killian, Ashley called me and told me what happened. Melody was nonstop crying until I picked her up. How is Hope?"
"Tommy pushed Hope into the bins and she got a deep cut. She needed stitches."
"Awiel, mean Tommy took toy from Mel-Mel and made her cwy."
"Hope told dem to leaf me alone. Tommy pushed her."
Emma faces her daughter. "What you did to protect Melody, stopping bullies teasing her. That is being a hero. You were being a great hero to your best friend today."
"Did not want boys mean to Mel-Mel. Dey took toy away from her and say mean words to her."
"That is why Mommy and Dada are so proud of you, Hope. You were a great best friend to Melody today. I am so proud of you, Hope." Hope smiles.
"My best fwiend hero!" Melody hugs Hope, their parents smile at their daughters.
"Easy on the hug, little ocean princess. She still has stitches."
"Yes, Em-em."
"You defended Melody, Hope."
"I did, Awiel. Not like boy mean to Mel-Mel."
Ariel smiles. "Melody is lucky to have you as her best friend."
Allison returns with Leia. "Hope, I have a popsicle for you and one for Melody." Leia coos. Allison smiles at her baby goddaughter. "And your baby sister."
"Leia!"
Emma takes Leia from her best friend. "Leia, did Auntie Allison give you a tour of her job?" Leia moves around. "She did give you a tour!" She sat down back on the bed.
"Baby sis!" She gives Leia her finger. "Luv you,Leia."
"You are sitting with the big girls."
Allison gives Melody a strawberry popsicle, and Hope an orange popsicle. "This is for being my brave patient!"
"Thank you, Auntie Allison."
"You are welcome." Hope hugs Allison.
"Mommy, want Leia sit next to me."
"She is.."
"No."
Emma smiles Hope loves her sister. She gets an idea and gets two pillows and laid Leia. "There you go, Leia. You can sit next to your big sister."
"Yay!" Hope holds her sister's hand and eating her popsicle. Emma takes a picture of her two daughters on her iPhone and texts it to Henry. Hope loves sitting next to Leia.
"What are my two goddaughters and Hope's best friend talking about?"
"School."
"Do you like school?"
"Yes. Not Tommy, he mean to Mel-Mel."
"Tommy mean."
Leia coos. "Mel-Mel your fwiend too. Auntie Allison best doktor." Leia moves her legs and looks at her sister. "Auntie Allison, she said yes."
Allison smiles. "I have the best two goddaughters ever." She hugs Hope and kisses Leia on the cheek.
"Swan, that is a good idea, Leia lying down next to Hope."
"Thank you. Hope just wanted to be with her sister." She hugs her husband.
"Hope is okay, Emma. She had her Mommy when she needed her the most."
Melody and Ariel left. Allison gives Emma and Killian gauze and paper on how to clean stitches for Hope. Killian drove his family into town. "Hope for being a little hero today to the bullies, you get a gift!"
"Gift!"
"Aye, also a stitches gift."
"Yay!"
Emma carried Leia in her carrier and held Hope's hand into the toy store. Hope lead her Mommy to the Disney section. "Which toy do you want?"
"Lion!" Hope holds her Nala doll.
"That is Nala from the Lion King. Can you say Nala?"
"Nala! Leia toy too?"
Emma and Killian smile at their daughter thinking of her baby sister. "Yes, we can get Leia a toy too."
"Little love, you can help us pick Leia's toy." They went into the animal plush doll section. "I think Leia would like an animal doll?"
"Animal." Hope sees a peach-colored bunny. "Bunny for Leia!"
"That is a good choice, little love."
"Leia is going to love her bunny doll, sweetie."
"Jolly Woger has a fweind now. They can pway."
Emma loves how Hope already thinking of her sister wanting her, including her in toy store shopping. Leia was snoozing in her carrier. "That is right. Let's go buy the toys."
"I cawwy them."
Killian pays for the toys and lets Hope carry them to the yellow bug. "Shirt Mommy."
"You want to go clothes shopping?"
"Yes, pwease."
Emma smiles, her daughter wants to shop. "We can go shopping, little duckling." Emma walked with Hope to the children's clothing store and they looked around.
Killian was waiting with Leia fast asleep in her carrier. He takes Leia outside, standing by the yellow bug. Charming finds his son-in-law. "Hi, Killian."He faces his youngest granddaughter. "Hi, Leia."
"Hi, Charming."
"I got your message about Hope. How is she?"
"A classmate pushed Hope into the toy bins and she got a deep cut in her head. She needed stitches."
"How was Emma?"
"In mama-bear mode."
"I am not surprised, she was in mama-bear mode since Henry brought her into town. Where are she and Hope?"
"Shopping. We got Hope and Leia new toys. Hope was a little hero at school today standing up to the bullies for Melody."
"She takes after my daughter."
"Aye, she certainly does. We awarded her with a toy for being brave today in school and at the hospital. She wanted a toy for Leia too." Leia coos. "Yes, your big sister thought of you while toy shopping." He kisses her on the head. "Now, Hope wanted to go clothes shopping which is where Emma and Hope are now."
Charming smiles. "She is a little princess."
"Aye, a little hero and a princess."
Emma saw a cute floral sweatsuit and dresses for her daughter. She lets Hope chose her outfits. They return outside, seeing her Dad. "Hi, Dad."
"Hi, Emma." They hug. Killian took the shopping bags to the car. He kneels to his granddaughter. "Hi, little princess. I heard you were a hero today."
"Yes, I was gwamps to Mel-Mel. I have a boo-boo in my head. Auntie Allison gave me stitches. I better now."
"I know your Mommy was there for you."
"Yes!" Hope hugs her Mommy's legs, "Mommy is da best!!"
Emma kneels down and hugs her daughter. "I am always going to be there for you, Hope." She holds her daughter and hugs her. "I love you so much." She kisses Hope on the head. Leia fusses. Emma kisses Leia. "Leia, Mommy is here. I love you. I will always be there for you, too, rainbow duckling." Charming smiles his daughter is an amazing mother to his granddaughters.
When the family arrived home, Henry facetime his Mom. "Hi, Henry!"
"Hi, Mom. I saw Dad andyour texts. What happened to Hope?"
"She needed stitches. A classmate was being mean to Melody. She stood up for her best friend. He pushed her into the toy bins and got a big deep cut in her head."
"Dad must have been furious."
"Oh, yes, he was. He threatened the 3-year-old boy with his hook by holding him up in the air. Your Dad and I had to take her in to see Allison."
"Is she okay?"
"Yes,she had to get stitches."
"Poor Hope."
"Hope got a popsicle treat from Allison. She will tell you what else she got." She goes upstairs to Hope's bedroom who was playing with her new toy. "Hope! I have a facetime call." She shows her Henry.
"Henwy!!" Emma gives Hope her iPhone.
"Hi, Hope. Is that a new Nala toy?"
"Yes! Mommy and Dada got it for me."
"Awesome choice!"
"I protected Mel-Mel in pweschool."
"You are a little hero. I heard from Mommy you got hurt."
"I did. Auntie Allison fixed my boo-boo." Henry was smiling big, his sister finally can say Allison's name. "She gave me a popsicle."
"You can get a popsicle at the hospital?"
"Yes!" Leia was crying in her room.
Emma gets her daughter from her crib. "Leia." Leia stops crying. Emma smiles. "You can stay with me, baby girl. My little rainbow baby." She takes her to Hope's room. "Hope is talking to Henry."
"Henwy, Leia here!" She shows Henry to their baby sister.
"Hi, Leia." Leia looks at her big brother trying to touch him with her hand, making her big brother smile. "When I come home, you can grab my face or pull out my hair. I heard you were being a great baby sis to Hope today."
"Both of your sisters got new toys today."
"Awesome. Hope told me Jolly Roger has a new friend."
"Yes, she chose Leia a pink bunny doll so Jolly Roger has a new friend." Leia was trying to reach out to Henry. "As you can see Leia wants you to hold her."
He looks at his sister. "Hi, baby sis. I love you. She knows that I am her big brother."
"That is right. Hope, your Dad and I tell her all about you all the time, our adventures in different realms and the storybook."
"Leia, we have the best brother." Leia kicks.
"She agrees with you, Hope."
"Hope told me that Leia kept her company today."
"Yes, she did. Leia, can you tell Henry what you talk about with Hope?" Leia coos. "You talked with the big girls?"
"Yes, we did, Mommy. Sister time." Emma and Henry both smile at Hope. Henry tells his Mom about his classes are going and how he facetime Ava all the time. Leia began crying.
Killian enters the room with a bottle. "Leia, dada has your bottle. Swan, it is my turn to hold your iPhone and talk to our son." Emma bottle feeds Leia on Hope's bed.
"Hi,Dad."
"Hi, son. As you can tell we all had a long day."
"I had a long day too. I was busy with my art projects. Family weekend is two weeks from now. Are you all coming?" Emma and Killian looked at each other and smile.
"Yes, we are coming, lad."
"We would not miss it, kid."
"Yes! I will give you a tour of the campus and we will take Leia on her first trip to the aquarium."
"Leia meet my fweind."
"Yes, she will meet your seal otter friend, Hope."
"See Henwy at school."
"Yes, we will."
"This will be Leia's first trip to Boston."
"That is right, kid."
"Baby sis, we can show you and Hope, where I met Mommy."
"We can stay at my old apartment. It is not a far car ride to your campus, kid. We can stay in Boston for the weekend."
"Awesome!"
"YAY! Henwy school!!" She began jumping on the bed.
"Hope, no little love. Leia is eating." He scooped Hope into his arms.
"Sowwy, Mommy, Leia."
"That is okay, Hope. You are just excited for our trip to Boston to see Henry." Killian spun Hope around making her giggle. "We are looking forward to seeing you on campus, Henry."
"I know. We can also tour around Boston to show Leia."
"Leia, are you excited to see your brother?" Leia looks at her Mommy. "Yes, you are excited. Your first road trip."
" Ava is coming down here next weekend just for us time. It is our anniversary"
"I understand. She misses you. We talk."
"About me?"
"You and girl stuff."
"I am happy you two are talking all the time."
"She misses you, kid."
"I will have the whole weekend with her. We are going to celebrate our anniversary."
"What are your plans?"
"I thought of taking her to a museum. She also likes music. There is a rock band concert with her favorite band, "Green Day," coming to Boston that weekend. I want to surprise her."
"She will love it. Do you need money for the tickets? Concerts like Green Day can be pricey."
"My other Mom has been sending me money for the tickets."
"Kid, remember about.."
"Protection. Yes, I have just in case." Leia coos. "You are the baby of the family, baby sis." The Swan-Jones family are happy to plan a family road trip to visit Henry for a family weekend.
