Alice had been back from the farm for just a few weeks now. She had been staying at the Jones household together with Betty. Polly had still been in the hospital but she was getting better every day. Even though Alice was okay for someone who had gone through what she had gone through, both Betty and FP had noticed that she wasn't her old self.

It was her birthday, but Alice had assured her daughter that she didn't want to celebrate it in any way. She just wasn't in the mood and for some reason she knew that all the eyes would be on her. The last things she needed was a judging look from her old friends, or the or the friends of her daughter, which is even worse. She did a good thing, but she was sure not everybody would think of it that way.

''Just have one drink with me, mom. Just the two of us.'' Betty had convinced her mother. She couldn't say no to her and it would be good to be out and spend some time with her daughter.

They had talked about their relationship a lot these last weeks and despite everything they were growing stronger. Alice had promised herself that nobody would ever get between her and her daughters ever again. They are and will be her number one priority for the rest of her life.

After diner Betty drove her and her mom to La Bonne Nuit because Betty had told her that Veronica had a new cocktail on the menu and she was sure her mom would love it. When it came to cocktails Alice didn't need much convincing, so she was actually excited to spend the night with Betty.

''It's nice to have a night out together, Betty. I missed that.'' Alice confessed when they walked into Pops. Betty smiled gratefully to her mother. She missed her like crazy too. She grabbed her mother's hand tightly and Alice squeezed back.

''I missed it too, mom. I'm glad everything is okay now.'' They walked down on the staircase and entered La Bonne Nuit, where it was awfully dark. Alice almost couldn't see a thing.

''They could have put the light on. Is there even someone in here?'' Betty tried not to laugh but felt with her hand onto to wall, until she found the light switch.

Suddenly the whole room was bright and surrounded by all her friends. ''Surprise!'' They all yelled. Alice placed her hand on her chest and looked at her daughter with tears in her eyes. ''I should have known that something was off.'' She laughed.

In the middle of the room stood Charles, who carried a big pie in his hand with forty-five candles on it. He walked towards her with a grin on his face that reminded her of his father.

''Happy birthday, mom.'' Alice looked her son in his eyes and swallowed away the lump in her throat. It was the first time he had ever called her mom and she could read in his eyes that he meant it. She smiled gratefully and he winked back.

''Make a wish mom.'' Betty said excited. Alice inhaled and blew out every little candle in one turn. Everybody started cheering and Alice looked around the room to see all those happy faces. All Betty's friends were there, a bunch of Serpents, Hermione, Fred, Mary, Sierra, Tom and in the back stood FP.

Cheryl, Veronica and Toni got up the stage and looked around the crowded room. ''Can I have everybody's attention?'' All the heads turned towards Cheryl, who stood in the middle of the spotlight. The red head looked over towards Alice, and smiled to her.

''Dear Auntie. You not only saved mine, but a lot of lives of people in this room. No words can describe how grateful I am for that.'' Alice let her tears stream and Betty grabbed her hand as support. They rested their heads together.

''We made you a song, to celebrate this day with us and to thank you for everything you have done for us.''

The lights went out and everybody focussed on the three beautiful girls standing on the stage of La Bonne Nuit. While the girls sang Alice grabbed the hand of her son who stood next to her. He gladly accepted it and wrapped his arm around his mother a few seconds later.
