The first leg of the tour was over and with it, the summer break in the south of France started. Edge and Bono always spent their summers there, and they've always made it crowded. Both their friends and family came over to have some fun and chill with them. Adam, Larry's wife and kid, Edge with his kids and Morleigh, Guggi and Eli, Gavin, Naomi Campbell, Hellena Christensen, Christy Turlington, Anton Corbjin, Daniel Lanois and Bono. They sheared lunches, walks on the beach, boat rides through the coast, visits into town or just chilling on the backyard while staring at the beautiful blue coast.
Kids were running around while their parents enjoyed with their pals. It was a perfect stop to recharge energies for the next part of the tour.
Everyone where talking while having lunch in the backyard. Kids running as usual and everybody having a good time, until someone stood up and crashed his spoon with empty glass, and silence followed the noise.
"I've... Well....We... have an announcement to say" Guggi spoke as he looked at Eli's eyes right next to him and gave his hand to her, making Eli stood up at his side
"We're getting married" he said as everyone applauded, shouted and celebrated his announcement
He told everyone how he asked her a day ago during a morning stroll over the beautiful blue coast.
Everyone salute them, nobody expected that announcement.
"Wow, I'm so proud of you guys. Really. Guggi getting married... Haha, who would imagine?!" Bono said laughing
"We met because of you, and you always told me to stick to her... And hell you were right!" Guggi said
Eli and Guggi were staying at Bono's house. She went up stairs to get some clothes as they were going to watch the sunset from a boat, but the rays of sun coming from Bono's room got her attention. She went inside, to find Bono standing on his balcony. The view of the coast was amazing, and from it you could also see the kids running on the back yard as well.
"Hey" she said as Bono turned like being awake from his day dreams
"Hey" he answered as she stood next to him, staring at the kids and the sea
Eli watched his eyes and saw sadness behind them.
"You're a good man. I know that you've probably seen yourself married and with kids at this time of your life and seeing your friends getting there, especially the ones you thought that never will, makes you think about it.
Someone who looks at kids that way you do, and connect with them the way you do. I've seen you playing with them like if you were another kid. How they behave with you... I know one day you'll be an amazing father. With someone that loves you as much as you deserve" She ended still looking at the sunset
Bono turned his head aside and looked at her with tender eyes.
"That's why Guggi and I didn't even need to talk about it, you're gonna be our best man. You got us together in the first place, you've always share your place and time with both of us and there's no one as kind, lovely, loyal and romantic like you. And well... Sexy as well, just to feed your ego, you know" she said winking at him
"Jesus. You've always have the perfect words at the perfect time?" Bono asked smiling "You'd be a great songwriter" he said as both laughed. "It will be an honor to be part of such an amazing step you'll take. He always said he'll never get married, but he understood how lucky he is to have you by his side. He's smart. He won the lottery and he knows it" Bono said as he smiled and winked at her
"See? That's how I know I couldn't pick anyone else. Get sometime in November, we're getting married then. You've got 3 months to get decent. That beard is untidy, your hair is... well , probably you don't comb it since the tour started and you're eyes are red like if you didn't sleep in 3 days. So tidy up, cause they said in people fall in love at weddings" both laughed
"I will get tidy for you. Your wishes are orders darling" he said and laughed
"Don't get tidy for me, get sexy for someone else" she said mysteriously while walking away
He laughed about what she said as Eli walked away leaving Bono again drowned in his dreams looking at the sunset, or just nowhere .
