"Kumusta si Kaven?" tanong ko kay Sparks, ang babaeng teacher namin na may kagagawan ng lahat.
"Okay naman siya pero kailangan pa rin niya magpahinga."
"I told you," I scan the area for any unwanted listener before I continue, "even if all the members have eye abilities, it wouldn't help us every time. What are you trying to do? What exactly is your plan?"
Even after everything, I still doubt her.

I have this strange feeling that we haven't seen the entire picture yet.
"Makinig ka sa'kin, Zairus," she says. "Alam kong nagdududa pa rin kayo sa intensyon ko pero hindi ako nagkamali ng pagpili sa inyo at hindi lang ang eye ability niyo ang dahilan kung bakit ko kayo pinili." She looks bothered, like she's about to say something but then decides against it. "Mabuti pa maghanda ka na. Ikaw na ang susunod na lalaban, Number Three."
Hindi ko na siya binigyang pansin. Umalis nalang ako at pinuntahan si Celestine.
They can do anything they want with me but I'm not letting them involve Celestine any further. I don't care what happens to me as long as she's safe.
Somehow I need to find a way to make her withdraw from this competition.
"Kuya!"
I turn around and see her stop as she covers her mouth with her hand.
I smile. "It's fine. It'll take time."
"Be careful out there," she says, red eyes full of concern.
"I will."
But I am more concerned about Celestine's safety than mine. Unlike us, she's normal.
I'm worried about what will happen next. Because time finally started to move, and it left me with questions I did not care to find answers before.
