Be my Shield (Roman Reigns)

Chapter Seven

"A toast, to the baddest chick in WWE and your new divas champion Mia-Rose. Get your ass up here girl"

We were having drinks in a bar with a few of our fellow wrestlers and Seth was raising a toast in my honour. I climbed up on a stool beside him so i could see over everyone in the bar and raised my bottle in the air

"That's right bitches, WWE divas champion in the building"

I hollered to the small group gathered around me and was met with a round of cheers and applause. Dean passed me a shot which i gladly downed before turning back to the small crowd

"Thank you all for coming to celebrate with us, this really means a lot to me and I'm grateful to have good friends like you guys. Oh and the next rounds on Dean so drink up!"

I quickly shouted before throwing my head back and howling loudly. Everyone cheered and clinked glasses, i was about to jump down from the stool when the door of the bar swung open drawing my attention. Randy stepped in, his blue eyes scanning the small bar before landing on me. I couldn't look away as he smiled up at me, i was about to smile back when a leggy blonde appeared behind him grabbing hold of his arm. My heart sunk a little as i watched the bombshell run her manicured fingernails up and down his arm but that sinking feeling turned into one of disgust and anger as images of him and AJ began to play in my head only to be replaced with images of him and the blonde who was almost falling out of her skin tight dress. He threw me a quick glance before pulling her towards the opposite end of the bar. I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist and pull me down from the stool and when i looked up Roman was there thrusting a beer into my hand

"Here baby girl you look like you need it"

I gave him a quick side hug before taking a drink from the beer in my hand. I refused to look over at Randy and his date and as if sensing my thoughts Roman put his arm around my shoulder and pulled me into his side

"Ignore him Mia, he's not worth it and if this gets too much just say the word and we can get out of here"

And there go those damn butterflies again. It was like as soon as Roman starts talking any thoughts of Randy just fly right out of my head and he has my full attention. We stood there drinking and chatting when my favourite pasty Irish man Sheamus strolled over and nudged me in the side.

"Don't worry darlin'. You're a damn sight better looking than that lass Ortons got over there. Classier too, she just tried to flash me under the table while he wasn't looking and i have just one thing to say. Brazilian Wax, she needs one. Plus I'm pretty sure i've just spotted her following Ziggler into the mens room"

He shuddered at the last part causing Roman and I to burst into fits of uncontrollable laughter. I held onto Roman trying to keep myself upright as i struggled to regain my composure, oh Randy sure knows how to pick them. 

"Hey you wanna get out of here?"

Romans deep voice in my ear sent shivers down my spine and without even looking at him i nodded and let him lead me out the door.

"See you two back at the hotel"

I briefly heard Seth call just as the door closed behind us. Roman still had his arm around my shoulder and as we stepped out into the cold air i instinctively leaned in closer to him as he pulled me in tighter.

"You did amazing tonight Mia. I'm so proud of you"

I could feel my cheeks flushing as i took in Romans compliments, i felt like a giddy school girl with a crush.

"Well i have a pretty awesome team who have been helping me along the way and don't forget i did finish her off with a kick ass spear that a certain somebody taught me"

Before we even realized we were back at the hotel and a sudden wave of fatigue hit me. All i wanted to do was curl up in my bed and sleep.

"Hey Mia i want to ask you something"

Roman blurted suddenly as we got out of the elevator. He looked nervous as he stood there looking at his feet, i stayed silent waiting for him to finish and when he looked up at me i raised my eyebrows expectantly

"Go on a date with me? Tomorrow night after Raw have dinner with me"

The words spilled from his mouth quickly but i heard them perfectly clear. My stomach was in knots and my heart was pounding but i was happy. He opened his mouth to say something else but i cut him off pressing my lips to his. He was caught of guard and surprised at first but quickly responded, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling my body flush against his own. His lips were soft and like a gentleman he didn't push it any further instead pulling away and giving me one more quick peck. I felt like i was on cloud nine and i wasn't quite ready to come down.

"I'll see you in the morning"

I couldn't stop the smile on my face as Roman let me go and i turned to open my door

"Goodnight Roman"

As i entered my room and closed the door behind me i couldn't help the broad smile that had settled on my face. This night was definitely one to remember.
