Madra was dancing in the kitchen as she prepared what seemed to be a totem but I could not identify the animal. Her daughter and her husband whose names I did not know, were happily dancing while spreading flowers in every corner of the house while their children just played around.

I was sitting on Madra's son's lap as his fingers run through my hair while his other hand was tightly wrapped around my waist. He was constantly sniffing me like a dog, yet I am the one who is a werewolf and can do that without looking weird.

They were yet to tell me what they were or how they knew what I was. From what I had picked up from them talking, they were preparing the house for what they called our wedding ceremony.

"You are as beautiful as Selene," he whispered in my ear, twirling a strand of my hair. I wanted nothing more than to be off of him and out of here.

They seemed like normal human beings to me, but since they knew of my existence, I didn't know what they were or what they could do.

That was what scared me. They could probably kill me in a blink of an eye and I didn't even know it.

"Now why would I kill my bride to be," he chuckled, sending a chill down my spine. Don't tell me he can read minds and I don't even know his name.

"The name's Mateo darling. All you had to do was ask you know, but I can read your mind." I didn't have to look to know that he was smirking.

Not even my mind was safe and this whole mess happened because I had stabbed Ashanti and runaway. All because I couldn't accept my fate.

Tears slowly run down my face as thoughts about what happened resurfaced my mind. If only I had accepted what was to happen, then I would have never met Madra.

"Don't think like that darling. If you had never met my mother, then I would have never found someone who's beauty can compare to you and you're special, to make things even better."

Right now, I wanted to feel Ashanti's arm on my body as he rocked me back and forth, while telling me that everything would be okay.

I was a complicated mess mixed with a train wreck and all of this wasn't helping my mental health.

"What are you?" I finally managed to ask knowing that no one would be coming to my rescue. Might as well find out as much as I can.

"Now that's the spirit, but I can't tell you what I am just yet," he said, turning me around to face him. His light brown eyes twinkling as they travelled to my lips and back to my eyes.

It was worth a shot, but I really wanted to know what they were. Never have I heard one of the wolves from Jovano's or Malik's pack about beings who can blend in with humans so well.

The way they acted and smelt would make you think they were just a regular being.

"The table have been prepared Mateo," his sister called out as I was suddenly being lifted up bridal style and taken into a room that I had never been in before.

I was placed down on the stomach as my hands and feet were being strapped down with leather straps.

"I thought this was a wedding ceremony. Why the need for straps," I asked confused as Mateo's sister came dancing into the room.

"Oh it is, but we do things differently," the lady responded as my shirt was ripped off along with my skirt, leaving me almost naked.

I began to shift around and try to use my strength in order to burst the straps, but I had gotten weaker and failed to do so.

"I will kindly ask you to stop moving so much or I will have to do so myself and trust me, you don't want that," the lady said again, as she sprinkled some kind of sweet smelling oil on me.

Next came in her children, two boys and one girl, who began to just throw flowers at me and around the room.

I would be lying if I said that I wasn't scared for my life. This felt as of I was being sacrificed and I didn't want to die this way. Especially with flowers being thrown at my face.

The lady's husband chuckled a bit before Madra came in with a little black book. They all made a circle around the table and began chanting words in another language, which sounded like gibberish to me.

When they were done, everyone except Mateo began singing a song mixed with English and their gibberish languages. Mateo placed a flower crown on my head before putting on one as well.

He got down on his knees and held his hands up as if he was offering me as a sacrifice to their God. Then he began saying soft words in his language as the others continued on singing.

Tall sticks that I hadn't noticed before that were in the four corner of the room, somehow lit themselves on fire for a minute or two and then died out.

"She has been approved of," Madra said happily as they all walked out of the room except Mateo. The room was now smelling like a flower garden as Mateo's hungry eyes raked over my body.

He slowly made his way to the top of the table and began running his cold fingers down my body, leaving behind a strange sensation.

Just as he was about to reach for my panties, loud screams filled the house as furniture could be heard crashing to the floor. I didn't know what it was, but I was glad that it happened when it did.

Mateo's once light brown eyes were now a bright green colour as he exited the room in a flash, leaving me all alone and strapped to a table.

It seemed like forever before the door opened to reveal the last person that I expected it to be.
