A week has passed by and I am just being eaten from the inside because of all my little lies and things would get out of hand if I kept it up. It was nearing the time of the change and if I continued lying to him, it would be very difficult to explain things to him.

I have gained more confidence in myself and have even being interacting with the members of the pack, well not verbally at least. Also, I have even began wearing clothes that show a bit more skin than I would normally wear.

Taking in a deep breath, I was finally about to knock on his door after the long waiting outside of his office the door. As soon as I knocked, he called for me to come in which made me jump a little.

"I was beginning to think that you was never going to knock," he chuckled to himself as I raised a brow in confusion. "I could smell your scent from behind the door," he explained as I nearly face palmed.

"Well," I began, not knowing what the best way to start was or how to even put what I had to say in proper sentences. "I believe that now is the best time to answer your questions, if you are busy I totally understand," I rushed out the last part, hoping that he was so I could proper plan what I was saying.

But luck is never on my side.

"You caught me in a good time actually. I just finished all of my paperwork," he smiled. "Take a seat then," he said, gesturing towards the leather sofa.

When we were both seated and comfortable, I stared at him for some time as the words were forming in my head and he patiently waited for me to begin, but I could see he wasn't one to have a lot of patience.

Sucking in some air, I began. "Well, I know that you didn't believe my little story about running in the woods when you asked about my scars. They are actually from my stepmother and Alpha Malik," I paused, sensing the anger just radiating off of him in waves.

When he finally calmed down, he nodded for me to continue.

"I'm sure you have noticed, but I don't have a wolf and that is just one of the reasons why I was hated by most of my pack after the passing of my mother. She was one of the very few wolves who had the ability to heal and communicate with the moon, which is why Alpha Malik tortured me." I paused after that to shake away the memories that were resurfacing.

"He thought that I had those abilities and thought that I was lying when I told him I did not, which is when the beatings began and when I just stopped speaking as well. He would always put more force whenever I spoke so I just stopped," I said, shrugging my shoulders as the memories came back.

"So Alpha Malik is the one to blame for you not talking and for the scars?" Jovano asked calmly, his body was shaking as his silver eyes got a bit darker.

Ignoring his question because his anger would only grow and the answer would raise more questions, I continued speaking. "Well anyways, my father remarried Felicia because she to had lost her mate and they somehow bonded. She made him forget all about me and I was basically her little maid and punching bag," I smiled, as tears threatened to pour out my eyes.

His muscular arms wrapped around me and pulled me closer into him as I rested my head on his shoulder. It felt so nice to have a shoulder to cry on after so many years of having no one looking out for me, not even the moon herself.

After all the tears had fallen and there was no more left, I pulled back from him.

"I can feel that my wolf will be coming sometime this week and I will need my grandmother here with me," I said as I looked into his eyes which had widened at the mention of my wolf. I did not want to expose my whole truth to him, because I did not fully trust him. I can't really trust anyone after what I've been though, especially by my own father.

"I will see what I can do and how do you know that your wolf is coming? You are twenty two which means she probably skipped you," he said, pure confusion written on his face causing me to chuckle.

"That's the age when my grandmother and mother both got their wolves," I smiled up at him. "Besides that, whenever I look at the moon I feel as if she is calling out to me even more or maybe I am just delusional," I said, while crossing my eyes and shaking my head as he laughed at my silliness.

I rested my head on his lap and closed my eyes as I felt a part of me relieved to tell him the truth although I left out a large chunk of it. It was not really necessary anyways.

"Thank you for telling me," his voice was calm and relaxing as he run his fingers through my blonde hair and basically just messing up my hair which took so long to get to the neat look it was now.

I smiled knowing that my mate was happy and because I finally came clean although I was expecting him to be much more angry than he was. It seems like he has great anger management which is something Alphas lack.

Removing my head on his chest, I placed a soft kiss on his forehead before standing up to leave when he stopped me.

"Since I'm free, do you want to go to the mall? I mean you do need more clothing and who better than me to improve your fashion choices," he smirked. I wasn't one for shopping and dressing up, but I didn't want to pass up a chance of going to the mall with my mate. Besides it would be fun to see what he picks out for me.

Nodding my head, I pulled him up off the chair and run towards the door like a little child about to receive a present, while he just laughed at my behavior.

I mean what girl won't be happy about getting new clothes?
