Chapter Thirty Three

"I Don't Care..."

Justin’s Point Of View

             “Shit.”

I looked up to see Sophia holding her back with her hands as she made her way back over to the hospital bed.

It’s been a week since her injury and yesterday she had the head cast removed. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her in so much pain in my life.

“Babe, are you okay? Do you need help? “ I stood up from the chair and walked over to the bathroom to help her.

“Justin, I’m fine.” She spat, still holding her head.

She’s been like this for the past couple of days. The doctor told me not to take it personally because she’s been put on a different pain medication but I couldn’t help but get hurt every time she snapped at me. All I was doing was trying to help.

“Sorry.” I sighed and walked back over to the chair.

She glanced at me, a wave of sadness coming over her.

“I didn’t mean to yell. I’m just in pain.”
            “I know baby, it’s okay.”

She started to sit back down on the bed when I heard a knock at the door. I was expecting to see Carina or my mom but it was Dr. Clark.

Nodding at me, he walked over towards Sophia and helped her into bed. I couldn’t help but get irritated when she let him help her because that’s all I was trying to do.

“How are you feeling today Sophia?” He asked, giving her a warm smile.

“This pain medication isn’t working.” She sighed and leaned back into the pillows. “My head hurts worse than it ever has.”

He scribbled down something onto his clipboard and checked over her machines.

“I know. We had to take you off of the Vicadin because we didn’t want you to have withdrawal from it. But if you’re really in that much pain we can give you more of that.”

I saw her nod, letting him know she wanted more. Standing up once again from the chair, I glanced towards the doctor to secretly let him know that I wanted to talk to him in private.

“Well your vitals look outstanding Sophia. If you’ll excuse me, I’m going to get you a cup of water. Justin, would you mind coming with me so you can just bring it back to her?”

Exiting the room, I saw him close the door behind him and he turned around, waiting for me to speak.

“That medication she was on before…” I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair. “It made her really crazy. When I say crazy I mean-“

“Sexually stimulated?” He cut me off.

“Yeah.” I chuckled and nodded my head. “Very.”

“Sometimes this medication has a side effect of that. But in all honesty Mr. Bieber that’s not always a bad thing.” His blue eyes sparkled with humor.
