I was swimming back to shore. I was breezing past everything after I had taken the princesses to the palace. When I had dropped them off I had saw the king's other daughter's families there. They were hopefully keeping those girls busy. I broke the surface just as I took a breath of air. Real air, from land. I dragged myself onto the sand. As I waited to dry, I thought. What are we going to do with these humans? We'll need an island just for our kind since a lot of the merfolk like the land more, some have never been to the ocean just because they were born on land. We can no longer go near the humans if this is how they treat us when they find out about our secret.
Once my tail had disappeared I began to walk inside the home where we keep clothes for when merfolk turn into humans. I pulled on shorts since that was technically the only thing I needed since it was sometime in the afternoon.
I began to jog back to the base. Not wanting to waste time when there was a war. Especially on the enemy's land. I had more men that the king asked for on the way. They were right behind me since they had to say their goodbyes to their families, but I didn't want to waste time so I began to swim. They should be here in an hour or so. When they get here we will be ready for war.
