"You have a couple options here, abort, adopt, or keep the baby." I mentally scoffed at how inconsiderate the doctor was being, considering he wasn't facing me and his face was still emerged in my file.

"Can I have some time to think?" The doctor mumbled something and I strained my ears to hear. "Excuse me, sir?"

"I said, make an appointment with the front desk. Have a nice day Ms. Lawrence." The doctor got up and walked out of the room. I sat there shocked still. I was actually pregnant. A child was growing inside of me, but I couldn't support it. I was barely survivng with my best friend Holli, and a baby was going to be our downfall, but I definitely wouldn't kill my baby. That wasn't even a choice for me.

"Adoption it is." I mumbled as I tugged my blouse down and left the bland OBGYN office.

I walked to the front desk and scheduled my next appointment, but I couldn't help but overhear an argument going on behind me. "No Ashley, we are not doing it again."

"Michael, please just one more time. I feel like this will be the lucky chance." I heard a sarcastic scoff.

"Oh like how you felt for the last one? And the one before that? These are too expensive and I just-" I heard his voice crack a little bit and I couldn't help, but feel bad. "I just can't handle the disappointment again."

"So I'm a disappointment? I'm going back to work. I'll see you at home." The woman, I presume to be Ashley, stormed off and the man, I assume Michael, sighed and rubbed his eyelids.

"Ma'am?" I broke out of my day dream and saw the irritated secretary holding up my card. "It didn't work." The blood drained from my face.

"It has to be a mistake. Please try again." She tried and rolled her eyes as the same thing happened again. I was supposed to have gotten paid today. Once the bills were taken out, I should've had at least 50 dollars left.

"Look, this co pay needs to be paid. Do you have another card?" My eyes began to water as I shook my head and looked down at my worn down Nikes.

"Here. Use this card." My head snapped up to see a muscular arm reach past me and hand the secretary a card. She took it, and scanned it. It went through on the first try. I looked up to thank the man and sure enough it was the man who was just arguing with the woman.

"I don't know how I can possibly thank you. Oh my gosh, thank you so much." I began to cry and the man looked slightly panicked. "I'm sorry, hormones are getting to me." I wiped my face, and giggled at his expression. He looked surprised.

"You're pregnant?" I looked down at my belly and rubbed it gently.

"Yup. 6 weeks along." His greenish- blue eyes seemed to soften more as he glanced longingly at my belly. Maybe this is the opportunity I was looking for. God was looking out for me!

"Um sir, well I couldn't help but over hear you problems and I know that you and your wife would really like to have a baby. Maybe I can help?"
